A friend of mine just did this at her wedding, I haven't seen the pictures yet but a couple things to note that she mentioned: disposable cameras aren't the price they used to be, I think they were around $30/piece. She also had signs that reminded people to use the flash - I think this is going to be really key in how good the pictures turn out. In reality, iPhones get such clear, great photos these days you'll have plenty of guest pictures too.

Digital disposable is an oxymoron and they are not compatible. Most smartphones are equipped with very high quality cameras and they are used by some filmmakers to produce theatrical releases.

Disposable cameras were expensive crap when they were first invented and they were notorious for having horrible quality at best and 1-2 pictures were all that anyone got from developing which was expensive back then. Add inflation prices across the board and the quality has not improved. Guests throughout the decades have taken photos on their own cameras and developed them at the local grocery store and and given copies to the couple much easier than than it is for people nowadays who don’t universally use QR codes and various apps as the sole way to get pictures to the couple. It’s also cheaper that way because time and sanity equal money as well.
We attended a wedding where everything was digital and even the younger “tech savvy” crowd, or what was expected to be, didn’t like using technology as the only way to interact with the couple. For other weddings, the guests took pictures on regular digital cameras and phones that they had developed locally and gave the couple physical copies without the extra technology headaches, all with zero issues.
