Difficult bridesmaid

Lucy, on January 21, 2022 at 2:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3
Hello so I have 4 bridesmaids all of different heights and sizes. They all agreed on a long multi-way navy dress, I bought dress A which was in sizes but the sizing was off and came up very small so 3 weren’t comfortable in it. We discussed a ‘one size fits all multi-way’ which they agreed and I bought them. 1 then decided to buy dress A in a champagne colour and said it was perfect - I told her champagne isn’t the colour and as discussed I’ve now bought a one size fits all multi-way dress in navy. She said she doesn’t like the fact it’s not skin tight fitting and she doesn’t like it as not her style … you can do 100 different styles. She has also had dislikes to the shoes 3 of them would prefer a block heel however she wants a stiletto heel. She was also planning my hen do and has now said she won’t be paying for me (whereas everyone else is splitting) I’m just not sure what to do or where to go from here. As even with the decorations etc I have decided she has just said they’re ok or has had some dislike to. Please help x

I wonder if she cannot afford to be in your bridal party, but instead of telling you, she's complaining. Ask her directly and give her an out. Or if this is not the reason, tell her you need her support not criticism because planning a wedding and marriage is hard enough. Good luck.

I would just kick her out but I might be a little cold shouldered on these kinds of things 😬

I would ask her if she would like to step down in a kind, understanding way, as she might have financial troubles or something else going on. If she wants to stay on, tell her this is what you've chosen for them and that's all that needs said.
