Different Dusty Blues?

Caity, on September 19, 2020 at 8:26 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

Hey all! So I’m planning on having 3/4 bridesmaids wear dusty blue and giving them some freedom on what style they pick. I was hoping that I could pick a few websites/locations and compare swatches to give them lots of wiggle room to find something their comfortable in and truly like, but I’m having trouble deciding if I should stick with that after getting these swatches. I have these 3 and an Azazie swatch, which is similar, but still slightly different from the Birdy Grey swatch if I’m remembering right. Do y’all think that these colors would be close enough to not be uncomfortable noticeable/would it look fine if there were orders across sites, or should I just narrow it down to one (probably David’s)?

Disclaimer: the Kennedy Blue swatch is technically slate blue or something instead of dusty, so that one may be out anyways.Different Dusty Blues? 1

Other note: my MOH is wearing navy/some form of dark blue.

I think it’s personal preference. A lot of people don’t care if the exact shades are all the same and a lot of people do. I personally do because OCD. I’m leaning towards azazie because there are a ton of styles all at really good price points so I plan to pick one color and let my BMs pick style

I'm also doing dusty blue and came across the same problem. I just asked my girls to pick out a dress they like from David's bridal so the colors match. My MOH is wearing a light blue from Azazie and thought her color looked best with the dusty blue from David's.

I was one that didn’t care of the dresses matched perfectly, so we went intentionally mismatched for my two MOHs. I had so many other things on my mind, until I got pictures back I couldn’t have told you even how my MOHs did their hair on the day. It’s definitely up to you. What might bother me is if everyone ordered from one site and one person ordered from another, but if you have a fairly even mix I think it looks fine,

It’s prob easier on the bridesmaids if you pick one swatch, one shop. If you want to get them involved maybe ask them one on one which of a few different dresses they prefer and use that to make up your mind. I’d appreciate having some choice in neckline but other than that I think it gets overwhelming trying to find something the wearer likes and that the bride likes and that fits with the other girls.

Dresses in different fabrics will also be different colors as well even if it’s the same dusty blue

That is exactly why you should never focus on a color name. Worry about whether the actual shade matches instead.

One designer's dusty blue will be someone else's twilight or slate gray and the list goes on.

I had this issue as well. I told my bridesmaids which online retailer to use so that they would be cohesive. It’s important to me that they are in the same color, length, and fabric and the swatches were just too different for me. None of them were the correct color name, but that doesn’t matter as long as the color looks right!

Do you happen to have a photo of the Azazie swatch? I'm having this same issue as well!

Different Dusty Blues? 3First picture without flash, second with flash. The Birdy Grey dusty blue matches Azazie dusty blue really well. Bottom Azazie is the steel blue Smiley smile hope this helps
