Different Brands of one Alcohol - Tacky it ok?

Clarissa, on June 27, 2019 at 6:00 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 20
Over time, I have been gifted bottles of alcohol that I don’t drink at all. I have collected a few different bottles of tequila and vodka that are unopened. I am providing the alcohol myself for my wedding and was wondering if it’s ok to have 2-3 different types of vodka/tequila or is that just tacky to include the bottles I already have at home?

I think that's ok. At the end of the day what do people care that it's different brands of alcohol as long as it's there right?

I wouldn't think that were tacky if I were a guest at your wedding. I know my friends all have different brand preferences for the same kind of alcohol and would enjoy being able to choose. As long as you're not advertising that it's "regifted" I think it would be fine

Personally, I wouldn't care or even notice. After all, it's free booze! I think you'll be fine using them.

Honestly I think it’s totally fine. I probably would even notice.

As a guest I wouldn’t care. If you are kindly offering alcohol, I wouldn’t complain what brands or types.

I would totally include them if you have them. I bartended my way through nursing school, and some people actually prefer cheaper or even just certain brands of alcohol.
I myself prefer one of the cheapest vodkas they make but my aunt likes Absolut only and my uncle prefers Svedka.
Plus, I don't think anyone will notice anyhow!

Not tacky at all. Some people have their favorite brand anyways so you’ll be fine.

If you personally don't drink that alcohol and you know your guest do then I'd say serve it that way good alcohol doesn't get wasted! I personally am a clear liquor person so I would definitely enjoy tequila or vodka no matter the brand.

I think it's fine. It'll probably be like that for us too. Our wedding is in October, and we're starting to pick up some bottles here and there, I say save yourself some money ans use them!

Free drinks are free drinks! Just don't mention it's from the gifts and nobody will care. I can't drink for medical reasons and everyone gives me alcohol so I regift it often 😬 and use it for parties. Nobody asks really.

I feel like it's probably fine as long as you aren't serving some people Smirnoff and others grey goose. As long as they are all similar quality, I say go for it!

I’m glad you asked this because I’ve been wondering it too. We’ll have beer and wine but the only liquor my venue allows is in the form of 2 signature cocktails that I choose. I supply the liquor and they supply the mixers.

FH works in Mexico several weeks each month and I’ve been having his bring home bottles of liquor after each trip (much cheaper!) They are all different brands and I was wondering if this would be tacky. Sounds like most ppl don’t care!

Use them up. Everyone will enjoy having drinks regardless of the label or may even like to try a different brand. Good times all around!
