Difference between acrylic and pink & white nails?

LaurenVictoria, on July 9, 2013 at 8:14 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

So, it's been a really long time since I've had any sort of fake nails. I got them a couple of times when I was younger and I believe I got acrylic tips. I want tips for the wedding but the place I'm looking at going offers both acrylic and pink & whites. What's the difference?? I want a french mani with some simple sparkle or gemstones.

Pink and whites usually ARE acrylic, just two different colors of acrylic instead of the usual clearish white stuff that they would then paint over. Pink and whites also don't normally use a tip, they just build up the two acrylics to look like a tip.

This is at least how it was at the spa I worked at. Smiley smile

If they used a powder it was probably acrylic, if it was a gel like substance, it would be a gel nail. Either one can have the pink and white effect, either a sculpted nail or an attached nail tip. Gel are a little more forgiving if you slam a nail, better chance of not breaking it, but really it depends on your nail tech
