Did you use a drink calculator, like evite? Did it work?

Hello,

So I have found that there are a lot of drink calculators available online, http://www.evite.com/pages/party/drink-calculator.jsp, http://www.thepartysource.com/spirits_calc.php, and http://www.perfect-party-planning.net/drinks_calculator.html just to name a few.

I am wondering if anyone used any of these at their wedding and how accurate they were. Just wondering if one of these sources seemed to work consistently for brides.

We are planning to bring in our own wine but go with the reception site for the rest. So I guess I can just always go high and try to get it from one of those places where you can return it. Does anyone know of any stores that do that?

I would try World Market, their wine is really good but not super expensive and I think they have a case discount. When I have bought wine there they have never said I couldn't return it but I also have never tried.

I would ask your venue what they suggest as far as how much to get and honestly no one will care if you run out of wine if you have everything else.

Someone else on here recommended one of those alcohol calculators to me also. I think I'm going to see what the calculator says and what the bartender at the venue suggests as far as that goes and then go somewhere in between.

When calculating Beverages, we suggest 1 drink per person per hour.

Each 750ml bottle of wine contain 5 glasses of wine. So if you have 80 guest for 4 hours=320 drinks divided by 5glasses=64 Bottles divided 12(bottles in a case)= 5 and 1/2 Cases of wine.

I hope I did not confuse you.

Found out that total wines will let us return them, so we will just get more than enough and then return them. And if we do run out we can use the house wine that the venue serves (I just didn't think it was very good). I'm still curious about how well those sites work for people. I'll try to remember to post back after my event.

For the rehearsal dinner we are just doing beer and wine, but for the reception it's an open bar. We are only allowed to bring in wine (which we are doing for both), but I'm sure people will be drinking plenty of other stuff. That's what makes it difficult to determine.

Can't wait to schedule more wine tastings!

JAmie does this also apply to non achoholic drinks also?? We have a large group of children and young adults invited to our wedding. So I exstimated out of 75 guests almost 1/2 can't drink achohol or don't drink.
