Did you go with your fh when they picked tuxes?

Jessie, on January 22, 2020 at 9:20 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
So I have planned everything in the wedding so far and am having a hard time letting go of any control.

I originally didn't want to see my FH in his tux, and he's going with his groomsmen to pick their tuxes on Saturday. Now I kinda wanna go and make sure nothing goes wrong (FH is also colorblind).

I wanted to, but he went without me. Wanted to "surprise" me. He did alright. He went and then didn't remember the tux name or number, or style for me to share with the other's in the wedding. it was a huge headache. He looked great though on our wedding day

I went, but only because my FH wanted me there. I mostly just hovered in the back and answered questions when my FH looked to me with a deer in the headlights look (cufflinks, pant cut, shoes). If you do go, don't try to take over. Let him do his thing. The consultant will definitely guide him (I really wasn't needed but for nitpicky things that they could have gone with the most popular option and it would have been fine). Give him a color guideline and trust his judgement.

I went. But it was just me and my FH looking at the suits. I was there to make sure I liked the color. When he found the he liked he sent the groomsmen a text of what to buy.

I am letting go of control for FH’s suit, but I am wanting to go to the appointment for the groomsmen suits. I guess we’ll see as it gets closer.

My husband and I went together to pick out the tuxes then he went with the guys. I was with him when he went with the guys because it was on our way home from Christmas otherwise he would have gone by himself. If he wants you to go then, I would especially since he is colorblind. If not, hopefully the groomsmen or the assistant at the store helps him pick something that will match. We took a sample of the color of the bridesmaids dresses with us so I would highly recommend doing that either way.

I only went because my hubby asked me to go with him. If he doesn’t want you to go, don’t. He can pick his own tux.

I didn't even plan on going. FH just figured I was going to go lol. He's not big on fashion so he wanted me to go to make sure everything looked good. He even ended up liking things he didn't think he was gonna like to begin with so that was fun to see him be more open with different accessory items.

I will be going with my fh to get his and the grooms men’s tuxes. My best friend and bm is the manager at the tux store so we pretty much have already planned it out lol. But I want my fh to have a say in what he wears. HOWEVER we had this debacle when he recently bought a new suit. He tried it on and said everything fit but when he got it home and tried it on again a few days later he said it was too snug and that I should have told him it was too tight when he tried it on. as if I should have known that it was too tight when we all asked is it too tight and he responds with I think it’s okay ... so he will need additional assistance making sure he doesn’t get something that ends up being too small.

I met up with mine and the best man after work (the shop was just a few blocks over and I take light rail too and from work) They were doing ok but as my FH says "you're form, I'm function. Please tell me which shade is the right one" lol.

FH is wearing 2 different jackets, in 2 different colors (one for the ceremony and one for the reception). He’s already a great dresser. So since we already knew the colors, he found 2 jackets oneday and simply text pics of what he bought. They’ll be perfect! I figure that since I selected my own dress, FH should be able to select his own attire that he likes.

My hubby would be lost without me and has no clue how to dress himself properly lol so i 100% plan on going with him and picking everything out, top to bottom. i am also ocd though and want everything to match perfectly. mine doesnt have "style" so he typically looks at me like a dear in headlights when people fit him for things and ask about colors. it truly depends on your groom! you really could do whatever youd like. if you want everything done a specific way, you could write it down for him or could even call back/make a visit to make sure things went smoothly before any orders are placed because the businesses typically give you until a certain date to make changes. do what you think is best for you because you know your future hubby better than anybody else so if you think he might need some guidance, its okay to accompany him or let him and his party know what youd like out of their suits. on the other hand, its okay if you feel like hes okay to go alone and you could just check back in with the place to see what was ordered and all that good stuff. theres absolutely nothing wrong with being conscientious. good luck girl!

I went with him. Ultimately it was all up to him so I didn't influence his choices too much.

I’ll go with FH but only to make sure everything is actually what we chose. He picked tuxedo, tie, vest pattern all himself but can’t remember what he chose! Lol I don’t want to see him in it until I walk down the aisle tho!

Absolutely! I wanted to make sure they didn't get something ridiculous and actually be serious about it because we paid a lot of money for our photographer and I didn't want to hate looking at my wedding photos because they wanted to play at their fitting. I'm glad I went also because two of the groomsmen showed up drunk.
