My fiancé planned it out for Christmas morning with his family. We went over like any other Christmas to exchange gifts and spend the day together. His mom (my MIL) gave me a gift to open which was a keychain that said she was so lucky to have me as a daughter in law and he knelt down when I was reading it to purpose to me. His sister and mom recorded it.

My FH took me to our favorite beach (which is 5 mins away from our house) right after sunset. We sat together and listened to the waves in the dark, the Coney Island lights behind us.
He took me to the water and we walked a few steps before he stopped, got down on one knee in the water and pulled out the ring.
I couldn’t believe it. It was our 6 year anniversary, and he had asked me to be his wife! My FH is sweet, funny, and kind. He knows we both would rather be alone than in a large crowd, which is why he proposed without an audience. We don’t like being the center of attention! But the proposal was perfect, wouldn’t have had it any other way!

My husband popped the question after blessing at a family dinner with my kids and my close family. It was exactly how I would have wanted it. I’m so glad my kids were part of it.

I once told fiancé when we first started dating I did not want to get married until after dating for four years or after I got my PhD. He responded with “Well you better get your PhD soon!” I did not end up getting a PhD.

We were celebrating our 4th anniversary cooking dinner at home. He was cooking dinner in the kitchen and I was staying out of his way watching TV in the living room. He asked “So we’ve been together 4 years now. We are basically married, right?” I knew he was joking, so I said “No, you haven’t actually asked me yet!” He came into the living room smiling, and said “You mean like this?” He goes down on one knee, out comes a ring, and asks me the big question. I was so surprised that I unceremoniously tackle-hugged him out of excitement and surprise! 🤣 Of course I said yes!
It turned out he had asked my parents permission at Christmas and my mom coordinated the ring with him at Easter. His original plan was to propose in NYC for my birthday, but he realized he might have had issues with TSA screening if he had the ring in his pocket, so he changed plans last minute and did it at home. Plus I think he liked it being just us two and not a public display. He is pretty shy, and even with just us two there I could tell he was nervous by his shaking hands. Perfect moment at home 🥰

I got engaged at home and it was PERFECT. Sean, my now DH, moved in with me and my older cranky dog (Gus) really soon after dating. Sean bought a house and asked us to move in with him. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to me, Sean had been teaching my dog my name and the command "Go see Julie!" Sean chose to practice this by sending my dog on journeys to see me when I was in the shower (annoying man) amd we'd always Crack up. New Years Eve Day (12/31/18) I come home from getting coffee and Sean and GusGus are crouched down on the other side of the room. Sean says "Go see Julie!" Gus sheepishly looks back as though to say "Are you sure about this, bro?" Sean repeats the command and my fuzzy baby trots over with the ring box around his collar. I am shaking as I open up the box, Sean comes over to kiss me and I stop him with "Aren't you gonna ask me something??" He did. Laughter, tears, and all of the feels.

We got engaged at home this year. I’m actually the one that asked him to marry me. There’s an old Irish tradition that “allows” the woman to propose during a leap year. I chickened out on Leap Day but a couple of weeks later, I did more research on the tradition and decided it was the right time to ask. The quarantine had just started and he’s active duty military so his restrictions were much more stricter than our state’s restrictions were at the time, so, I wasn’t able to ask him out on a proper date. We had just ate dinner and were sitting on the couch with our dogs when I told him there was something I really needed to talk to him about and that I needed to say it before I chickened out again. He was extremely surprised and got really emotional during my proposal. A few weeks ago he mentioned to a cashier at the store on base that he was picking something up for his fiancé and she asked how he had popped the question. He said he proudly told her that I had actually asked him based of an old Irish tradition. We both have Irish heritages and we plan to use the Claddagh as our rings.

My husband and I had been discussing getting engaged for about a month (to the point where we were already discussing where/when to have our wedding, making up a tentative guest list, deciding who we were going to have in our bridal parties, etc) but he was dead set on waiting for the "perfect moment" to formally propose. Personally I was just getting antsy because I already felt like we were engaged and I just wanted it to be official! So it kind of became an inside joke with us that I would just turn to him at random moments and be like "so, will you marry me?" and he would just laugh and say "NOT YET" and insist that he wanted to be the one to propose. So I started to realize I was probably starting to annoy him with my pestering him about wanting to get engaged already (lol) so I wrote him a letter basically saying everything I loved about him and how lucky I was to get to marry him at all, so I promised I'd stop bugging him and would be happy to wait as long as he wanted. We were having a quiet evening at home when I gave it to him, and by the end of the letter he was in tears and then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I literally thought he was kidding and kept saying "are you serious?!" and he said yes he was serious. I asked what about waiting for the perfect moment, and he just said "I just realized, any moment with you is already perfect" 🥺

It was totally not the proposal either of us imagined (literally at around 12:15am in pajamas in our living room) but it was genuine and romantic, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. That memory always reminds me too that as long as we're together, anything and everything can be special!

He popped the question half an hour before guests were set to arrive for my birthday party. He asked one of his friends to come early to help us set things up, but he was really there to film the proposal! In the backdrop of the video is this huge flower arrangement he’d gotten for me. He even made me go to my room and change into my party dress so I would look my best.
The best thing about him proposing on my birthday is that it was the same day we met two years earlier. He gave me a Claddagh ring he designed based on the one his grandfather made for his grandmother. He made the video so I could share it with my family that lives in Mexico and would not have been able to come and share the moment with us.

My fiancé proposed to me in my apartment! About a week and a half before, we were supposed to go to a pumpkin patch & carve pumpkins (which I had been begging to do forever), but nobody was there to work the pumpkin patch when we went. I was very disappointed. On October 21st, we were coming back to my apartment after Bible study, and I had my hands full of everything out of my car - even things I normally leave in there all the time. We walk in & my living room was completely different from when I left it! The coffee table was moved to the middle, a ring box sitting on its center. On either side of the ring box were pumpkins, will "marry me?" written on them, and other pumpkins/leaves/fall decorations were decorating the table. My roommates helped him set the whole thing up, and I was so surprised! I have so many pictures & a video (thanks to my roommates), which I probably would not have gotten if it hadn't happened at home. It was the most perfect proposal I could think of!

We had a at home engagement! I had mentioned multiple times I didn’t want a public engagement and wanted something private & intimate. We went to an event that evening and when we got back to apartment I immediately took off my heals & went straight to the bathroom to take off my heavy earrings. When I came out of the bathroom my fiancé was in the middle of our living room down in one knee. It wasn’t super lavish and there’s no pictures of the actual proposal but It was super sweet and intimate and I’m glad we’ll forever have this memory in our first apartment. My husband proposed January 25th 2019(which in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, was very close to 0 degrees out), only a few days before my 30th birthday. It was a Friday evening and I was at work as a nanny, the parents were running late and I was kind of annoyed because we had a family dinner for my birthday that night and I needed the time to get ready. Jim had been texting me asking if I was on my way home and I thought that was kind of strange because he’d never been so curious about these things before. When I finally was able to head home, I called him letting him know I was on the way and super annoyed because I had to wash, dry, and curl my hair (which takes time). Anyway, once I got home and was walking down the hall in our condo building, I saw him walk out of our place with his boots and coat and hat on. I asked him why he was dressed like that and where was he going, and he replied saying he had to to take boxes out to the dumpster....which was weird because he didn’t have any boxes in hand. He let me in our condo and I immediately saw a path of rose petals. I was confused(surprisingly). I asked what was going on, and he just told me to follow the petals. And of course I was super annoyed that he expected me to walk across our rug with my wet boots so I complained. He just was like “OMG just go”. I huffed and followed the petals right up to our patio door. I looked at him and asked, “Wait, you want me to go OUTSIDE?” He gave me that “shut up and do it” look. So I complied. Outside, I see a few sheets of paper taped to our grill so I start reading. It first told me not to turn around until I was finished. Then, it was this long, super sweet letter to me about our relationship and myself as a person. Lastly, it said I could turn around. So I did and he was down on one knee, in almost single digit degree weather, asking me to marry him. And honestly, the first thing I said was “SHUT UP”. He laughed and of course I corrected myself with a yes. We cried and hugged. He had actually proposed with a fake ring that my mom lent him because my actual ring wasn’t arriving until the next day. Fun fact though, he had ordered my ring a few weeks earlier WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL with severe blood clotting in his arm (paget Schroeder syndrome). When we got to dinner that night, we told my family and his family....immediately my mom runs into the back of the restaurant to grab balloons and “she said yes” plates. It was all so perfect. Unfortunately we didn’t get any pictures because apparently no one wanted to take pictures outside in that sort of temperature(understandable, but yes, my mom asked a lot of people). I did get just one picture myself of the petals. But it was the greatest proposal I could have ever asked for. Did you get engaged at home? 💍 6

Yes! My husband proposed to me on January 12, 2019 in our log cabin Smiley smile At the time, we lived in Central Florida and were Disney pass holders. That Saturday morning, we were getting ready to go to the parks and at one point when we were getting ready, he gave me a really sweet and long hug... I remember thinking to myself "he's gonna finally propose!"... I just had a gut feeling like I've never had before. I didn't know when exactly, I thought maybe he would do it at Disney. When I walked downstairs, he was in our guest bedroom and he told me to go sit down on the couch in the living room. He said that he taught our puppy a new trick and to call him out. I called for our puppy, and here he came out running to me and I noticed he had a little bag tied around his collar. I felt the bag and could feel a ring-shaped object. Immediately, I started freaking out and asking "is this for real??". My husband got down on one knee (tears and all), pulled out the ring, and popped the question right there in our living room!! I could not have asked for a better proposal Smiley heart it was so sweet and simple. We celebrated our engagement that day at Disney World! Smiley heart it was one of the best days ever!

My FH popped the question on our first cruise together (my first civilian one). It was the 2nd night out which happened to be Captain's Night so we were dressed up and went to dinner with his parents. After that, we went to the top deck for photos. His parents went first and then it was us. I walked over to him and that's when he dropped down to one knee and proposed.

His dad was recording the entire time but since it was pretty much pitch black, the video is hard to see. There just so happened to be a couple of cruise ship members working nearby and witnessed the entire thing so they gave us an applause and congratulations. It was sweet. I just wish the video didn't come out so dark but they kept the light off so I wouldn't figure it out lol

My Fiance proposed the first night in our new apartment. We lived together previously with his family so this was the first time we were finally on our own. I already knew he bought the ring but didn’t know he actually had it or when it would be. We spent the entire day moving everything in, unpacking boxes, and putting all the furniture together. It was the evening and I was getting so frustrated and upset that I could not get the TV stand together so he told me to take a break and he ordered pizza (our favorite). I went to get plates for dinner and then I turned around and there he was down on one knee. I playfully hit him because I thought he was just messing around!!!! I did not expect it all but it was perfect. No fancy proposal with rose petals or dresses up but it was perfect for us ❤️

We were packing glasses in my kitchen, soon to move into a place in the country, 2 years with owner abroad. Just came up in casual conversation. Private. I would have hated anything public or shared with others, or any down on one knee stuff. Just exactly right. We had known each other 10 months, were married in 5 more.

I sent him a private message on 1st March 2019 asking if he'd do me the honour of being my husband. I'd found a quote on Pinterest that struck a chord with me, so I sent it with my request. Neither of us have smartphones, so I know he read it on his laptop at home. I sent it from my laptop at my home too, so I reckon that makes it an at home proposal. This is the quote I sent him:

My fiancee and I live together and what happened was the mailman came to our door, and was like, "So I have this engagement ring for ________, is this you?" I was like, "Yeah." He replied with a, "Cool, sign here please." and he handed me the box, and that was how I got engaged. lol
