Did you find your dress yet and how was your experience

Hi! My first stop was a boutique apt and I'm glad I had that type of experience at least once, feeling like it was focused on me and styles I wanted to try. I really didn't know what styles I wanted, I mostly knew what I wasn't going to like. I didn't even have a specific price point because I wasn't sure how expensive things were going to go and how much my mom would be willing to pay (probably should have talked about it beforehand). But it went well and from that first try on experience we were able to narrow down to styles I actually did like. I didn't know until then that I liked the idea of having dropped sleeves so that became something we looked for in a dress. After that, my mom and I took time to go to a few other places that we could walk into and look around- I am a person that prefers to shop alone because I get overwhelmed. I actually ended up getting my dress at David's Bridal. We just walked in, started looking around and they had a consultant come and help out. I did start to feel overwhelmed at first with so many diff options and it was so busy in the store. I honestly sat in the dressing room with my mom to calm down and regroup, eventually I found a dress that I felt really comfortable in and felt like myself. It didn't have the sleeves but they had told us that they sell them through the alterations and can be added on later. I don't know if there was a sale or something but the price was just under $700.

I read one of the other comments about bringing snacks- I had that same situation when I tried to do the alterations with David's. We had an apt but they were seriously backed up and we were hungry by the time we finally were seen. I was definitely cranky and ended up getting frustrated because they had a different story about what could be done with the alterations all together. In the end, the price wasn't worth it and we decided to just buy the sleeves as planned and then go to a local seamstress who only charged me $35 to cut my dress and sew on the sleeves.

I fell in love with two dresses during my first shopping trip. Since then, I've locked down my venue and chosen my date (April 2022) and have another dress appointment to try on those two dresses with the intent to choose and order one of them. My hope is that now that I'll see them fresh with my venue in mind, it'll be easier to choose. Good luck and have fun!!!

So I have a event planner who also is my coworker bit we work different shifts. And it's been hard but now I list aemd her my ideas and take it from there. So she has offered her help I am so delighted that she offered her services now to start knocking out the rest. Now next venue to pick one of our choices then our wedding party attire is next

I racked up! I went to a boutique outside of Charlotte when they were having their summer sale. I got my dress ($1800) for less than $400!

I personally went to 3 different shops the first 2 i hated and had such a bad time there and i bought a dress from one but they ordered the complete wrong size and i could not justify pay the same in Alterations as i did the dress(700 dress) but the 3rd place i went to i loved it my guy went with me (my mom is not in the picture so he has been helping through a lot when it comes to the wedding planning because he knows it helps me feel better about it all) and i was treated like a princess and i found a beautiful dress on their Discontinued/ sales rake and only ended up paying $100 for my dress and it was a $1700 originally so a steal for me but they made me feel great and are even holding my dress for free because i didn't have a spot at my house for it.

I got a lot of inspiration online, but really fell in love with ONE dress. Then I went to every boutique and I’m pretty sure I tried on every wedding dress within a 200 mile radius..... and then bought THE ONE dress I loved from the start, for $600 off of Etsy - and it is perfection. Go with your gut!

My dress also was about to be discontinued which I think that is sad they should making them as long as brides want them. But I'm not in the fashion industry so I don't know how all that works. I also got my dress for $699. My consultant said that it was on sale I love it and so did my family. I'm happy that I had a fun consultant and other consultants members their got involved with the appointment. They really made me feel special

I'm going to my third store this Saturday, hoping I find my dress this time! My experiences at the first and second shop were just okay honestly. The first store was BHLDN and they only had maybe 30-40 dresses in store to try on, but online they have like 100+, so most of the dresses I wanted to try on weren't even there. 😔 The second store, my consultant just didn't listen to what I was saying. I told her I didn't like chunky lace or ball gowns and that's literally all she was pulling. She also didn't let me or my 2 guests look at the dresses and pull what we liked. So that was frustrating.

Hi Monique! Just coming back to update you on my recent dress shopping day! I found not one, but two dresses and still stayed under budget! It was such a great experience, and I had a wonderful time! I posted a forum about it this morning with pictures if you want to see them!
