Hello,

To bridal party members and brides - for any event whether the wedding or pre wedding events like the bridal shower, bachelorette, engagement party, etc. -- did you enforce wearing face masks/coverings?

So my bride and her other MOH only want to make them available but they don't want to make it mandatory or enforce wearing it. I just wanted to see what other people were doing.

Thanks!

What was the purpose of that response? You’re telling me that fear and virtue signaling trump science? And if that’s not what you think then send some evidence that is research based proving that a cloth face covering prevents the spread of covid. I’m sure anything you send, I can counter argue with science. CAN people wear masks to a wedding? Yes they’re welcome to. But if you’re that scared of covid that you enforce masks (when you’re government doesn’t require it legally) then you need to postpone because the “mask” is not protecting you. It’s providing a false sense of security. And if you’re one of the people out here wearing a surgical mask or n95 then shame on you! Because you are directly opposing what the cdc has recommended and you’re taking masks from healthcare workers who need them. There’s some better virtue signaling for you to use.

Judging by all the posts? Nah.
I think sociologists in the future will probably study this time. Good luck.

I didn't read anything in her response that was trying to make people afraid. I guess it all depends on how you read it. We actually don't know the level of effectiveness that a mask or cloth covering has. We don't know. The approach right now since Science doesn't have the time to conclude it's research and peer reviews in the middle of a pandemic, is to use applied science as a way to distribute public health policy on a massive global scale, and distribute it quickly. We don't know HOW effective these coverings really are. Obviously there would be some percentage of effectiveness even if it's super tiny. We do know how effective doing nothing is. So I suppose the question is, do you want to take actions on something that we're not even sure is effective? That's a fair question. There's a balance that needs to exist between fear and complacency. You sound complacent. But maybe that's just me reading it wrong. Also, I wouldn't use our government as an example of anything when discussing public health. They've already managed to politicize the health concern, and given that they're anti-science, that doesn't really help the argument. The states that have reopened too quickly have lit up like a match. And let's be even more honest, telling groups of women who want to have weddings that they may need to wait, well that's just worse than any pandemic. I mean who cares, let a person have the wedding of their dreams. Sure we don't know how this virus works 100% and people are dying in mass, but like omg, if I don't get my wedding! Lol, anyway.

Lol Yeah applied science does not support the use of a cloth face covering.

Basing the use of a mask off “super tiny” effectiveness when we’re seeing people become critically ill and DIE from wearing these masks is an absolute joke. Glad to know the covid patient matters more to you than the patient in icu with a bacterial infection in the pleural lining of their lungs from wearing a mask.
The only reason I said if the government mandates it by law is because in that instant you don’t have a choice. I know that the government is a joke and all their mandates and policies are utter bull crap.
The only reason states have lit up is because they’ve changed how probable cases are counted and now ONE can test positive 15 times and it counts as 15 new cases. THATS. NOT. HOW. SCIENCE. WORKS. And btw counting someone who died from cancer or a Mva as a covid death ISNT. HOW. SCIENCE. WORKS. either. So throwing out inaccurate facts about the death rate and active cases means absolutely nothing when the science is 100% flawed.
Also I never said she was trying to make people fearful. The entire ideology around covid that isn’t based on science is what is inciting fear.
Also I said if people are that afraid and concerned about covid move the wedding. No one said someone’s wedding mattered more than a human so just stop trying to twist words into the narrative that fits what you want.
If science is complacent then yes I’m complacent. Funny how everyone’s all for science until it doesn’t fit the narrative they want it to.

How did you pass medical school? Holy crap. Please, no one listen to this misinformation. Wearing masks will not cause bacterial infections in your lungs. I have an article I'm pasting the link to here with full references to scientific studies here for everyone else to read. Further, I haven't cited any statistics or numbers that you're getting at me about. How hospitals/states choose to report their cases is on them. If what you're saying is true, then the correct way to say this is that the statistics are wrong, not the science. I don't know guys, she doesn't sound like a medical professional at all. The terminology is also off here. I'm just going to move along. Please read and educate yourselves. We can all accept the facts (what we know, and what we don't know) without living in fear. Calmly and rationally. https://healthfeedback.org/claimreview/facebook-posts-spread-unsupported-anonymous-claim-that-face-mask-use-caused-a-lung-infection-in-a-healthy-teenager/

It's against the constitution to ask for people to wear masks in public. I for one would be offended to tell my 90 year old grandmother to wear a mask. What's next? Requiring your guests to wear diapers?

On Facebook I read a post from a certified Medical Doctor that masks can make your more sick than not wearing a mask.

Even if you don't trust the CDC (having apparently been taught not to trust science or evidence or experts or facts), you might take a look at that list of citations.

Or simply the data from Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Countries that test, trace, isolate, and require masks have flattened the curve: fewer cases, fewer deaths. In the USA (mask resistant, little testing, almost no tracing, "re-opening")--cases and deaths are spiking again. The USA has a quarter of the world's Covid cases We have 4% of the world's population.

This post is a bit of a tire fire. Let's be alert and informed ladies - not panicked, not hateful, not... whatever is going on with some of this.
If you have 10 minutes, and want to also see a hot guy AND you can look up his valid medical license if you want - check out Dr. Mike's video on covid below.

Wow Melle. To answer your question, I had my bridal shower a few weeks ago and my suggestion to guests was “to follow all social distancing and safety recommendations.” People brought masks, but no one wore them. We were outside and everyone was able to be with their family but separate from other family groups. I guess everyone felt safe enough to not wear their masks that they brought. 🤷‍♀️ We had sanitizer available and all food was single serve and pre-packaged. It was a little odd... but it felt safe. I also managed to get away with only two hugs which was amazing because I’m not a hugger. My final thoughts, I want people to be safe. With that being said, everyone was over the age of 18 and a legal adult. I will not tell my elders what to do. They know what’s best for their health and I respect their decisions.

Are you the bride? Will you and your wedding party be wearing masks? Is there an age cutoff where under this age they wont need to wear one? (I'm not going to be argumentative. I just am curious and need ideas.)
