We hear stories all the time on WW about women who were so confident they knew exactly what they were looking for in their wedding gown.... until they started trying on dresses! Did your wedding dress end up being exactly what you had originally envisioned? Or did you end up with something...

Did your wedding dress end up being exactly what you had originally envisioned? Or did you end up with something completely different than you anticipated? Just for fun, share a side-by-side of the dress (or dress style) you had thought you would get prior to shopping, and the one you actually ended up saying yes to!

Wow, yours was a complete 180 from your original vision! I had planned on getting a black lace wedding dress as well... but, like you, ended up falling in love with a lighter colored dress. It’s true what they say... you just know when you found “the one” 🖤

Thanks girl! I am actually going to shorten the one in the photo and wear it to our rehearsal dinner and the... I guess you could call it “bachelor/bachelorette party”... after the rehearsal dinner. The dress I got for our ceremony is from the same designer and very similar, but I don’t have a picture of me in it.

Knew I wanted a simple elegant timeless dress. Otherwise I would wear a ball gown like the third picture. I’m looking at adding a detachable skirt to mine depending on price. I actually bought one at goodwill what are the odds?! But it’s a shiny material and idk of it would be odd. Waiting to talk with the seamstress in January.

This is such a fun post!! 🥰 And I love seeing all these amazing dresses! 🤩
I knew I wanted a big ballgown skirt (which I ended up with), but at first I was really drawn to illusion necklines with a really soft and romantic look. I ended up with a bodice that was way more dramatic and sparkly! ✨

I was totally in love with this dress and convinced it was the one:

But when I got it, I thought it looked boxy on me. This is the dress I ended up with, but I had them add thicker horsehair on the bottom hem:

With the custom hem, it looks almost like the first one! I knew I wanted the horsehair hem and I absolutely love it 😍

Completely different!! I I imagined an a-line with long sleeves. I left with a beautiful fit and flare dress with no long sleeves and a beautiful long train and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
