Did you end up tipping your vendors that night?

Jolie, on October 17, 2019 at 10:21 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 10

So we fully intended to do so but if you leave a job up to a man well it probably won't get done lol. My now husband was designated to get the tip money for our DJ and photobooth guy because I alone had paid majority of the expenses towards the end for the wedding, venue and vendors. We opted not to tip additional for venue staff as they were being compensated in their wage already (the bartenders and valet got tips from our guests). Well of course day of, my husband forgot the tips and envelopes. So now we are working on sending thank you cards with a check to them! We will leave great reviews too. I guess it was one less thing to stress about although I could've strangled him the day of when I am rushing to get ready and he called me saying he did nothing regarding the note I left him on the counter. Men will be men Smiley xd

Our coordinator wouldn’t let the groom and groomsmen into their getting ready room (even though there was champagne set out for them and glasses), then she wouldn’t let him walk down the aisle, like at all. She kept telling him no, just wait trust me, it’s going to be great. She then sent everyone else (minister, groomsmen, bridesmaids, flower girl, ring bearer, parents and grandparents) down the aisle. She was still telling him stay right there when she called me down the stairs (I had no idea he wasn’t waiting for me down at the other end of the aisle). So now I’m coming down the stairs, and our entire bridal party is down the aisle, and he said screw you lady, and ran out the door and down the aisle so that the moment wouldn’t be ruined (we weren’t doing a first look). He literally just made it down the aisle when I came out the door. Total mess.

I''m also on the fence about the vendors the night of or after.

I will be tipping wait staff and bartenders that night. - and if all goes well our coordinator. Photographer i've been told to tip after you receive the photos.

Omg that sounds awful! I’m so sorry that happened! Did she do that at the rehearsal too or just went rouge the day of? That would piss me off so much! I’m glad your husband went down himself

Nope, the woman she works with was at the rehearsal. They work together. But I’m not sure why one of them would do the rehearsal and the other then be there for the day. Made for total chaos. We were not happy, to say the least. Hubby played it off like it was planned and guests didn’t notice the mishap. But we did.

Wow that is horrendous!! i don't see how that even makes sense for the DOC to not be there and it be someone else. even if maybe she was sick or something i feel its common knowledge that the GROOM DOESN'T WALK THE BRIDE DOWN THE AISLE!!! gosh what was she even thinking?! there's definitely no excuse for that. I'm glad everything worked out for you!

I had all my tips in my wallet.

    In the bridal suite.

Which I did not go back to until after most of the vendors had left.

Still working on getting those out to people.

I should probably have asked my MOH to do it...
