Did you create a wedding website?

Brittany, on May 5, 2020 at 12:26 PM Posted in Planning 1 9

I planned on making one, then changed my mind. Now that we are postponing for another year, I've reconsidered taking the time to build ours. However, I'm curious if anybody decided not to bother with one. We are having RSVPs mailed in if that makes a difference and having details for hotels and such mailed with the invites.

I had one and i personally think it's a nice touch especially if you have a lot of people from out of town. if you ever made one, it could be kept fairly simple as well

We had one. I didn't put a ton of time into it. But a really nice thing about wedding websites is you can have all of your wedding registries in one place. Also, it allows you to link your room blocks for out of town guests. I wanted to make things as convenient as possible for my guests.

We made one but also as a guest I love wedding websites! It’s nice having a central place to go where I can remember what time things are happening, where the hotel block is, where they are registered etc without keeping up with an insert that came with the invitation.

We made one. I've found them helpful as a guest for other weddings. It's nice to have somewhere with all the info. I included a frequently asked questions section on ours, plus an email for guests to contact us if they have questions.

We made one. We did the same as you and had all of our RSVPs mailed. On our website we included how we met, how he proposed, a photo of each person in our wedding party and how we know them, details about the wedding, after party, and day after breakfast, photo info, places to see and eat since all of our guests had to travel at least 1.5 hours to our wedding and weren't familiar with the area, a FAQ page, photos from when we were dating and engagement photos, and our registry. It is highly advised against to put your registry info on your invitations so we directed people to our website for hotel info and from there they could see our registry if they wanted to buy something for us. We did include a bit of hotel stuff on a card we sent with out information, but not everything could fit since there were different price points depending on the size of the room you wanted and different things like that. I feel a website is great for providing additional information in one easy location.

As a guest, I find a wedding website incredibly helpful. I throw out the invitation and inserts right away anyway, and use the website as my reference for the time, the hotel block info, registry, etc.

I love the idea of the stories of meeting, the proposal, and the wedding party! Everyone has made some really good points too for using the website for information. Thank you!
