I'm considering wearing a capelet--not a cape, not a jacket or bolero or topper--for my wedding. Did anyone or is anyone planning on wearing one for their own wedding day? It's so hard to find photos of real brides wearing them, & I'd love to see what people did! Did it match your dress or not? Did you wear a veil with it? What level of formality was your wedding?
My personal situation: I don't want to post my dress (just in case!), but it's more simple, with a low front & low back. I'm getting married in a church & while I feel perfectly comfortable, some sort of cover probably wouldn't be a bad idea. I was initially leaning veil but a) that won't cover the front at all & b) I'm not sure how I feel about veils, generally. But I worry a capelet will look too casual or I'll regret not having a veil (our wedding will be on the formal side, although not black-tie). I will only be wearing it for the ceremony, as well.
Here is one I'm considering: https://www.etsy.com/listing/743547261/wedding-cover-up-tess-wedding-cape-ivory?ref=shop_home_recs_2&frs=1
