Did anyone else's Husband take the wife's name?

I've only heard of it one time. My uncle took his wife's name. The only odd thing about that is she was married before so he actually took her ex-husbands name...we all laugh about it including him LOL

That's definitely interesting! My FH and I have been talking alot about this cause his last name has a bad rep from family members and so we talked about making up a whole new last name (if that's even possible) or combining them somehow!

My uncle took my aunts last name idk why though

I have clients who took her last name and also had a client who made up a completely new last name. They both had alot of family issues and didnt even know their biological dads. They wanted a fresh new start and both changed their last names. I thought it was so bizarre at first (especially in terms of geneology. Their history going back to 2012....that would be weird) but after getting to know their story I completely understood.

FH is taking mine and I am taking his. So we will have a hyphanated name with both of ours.

Ive never met a man in person who I knowingly did this. I wish more men would be willing to do this.

We're actually both going with an entirely new name, but FH offered to take mine before we decided. Granted, my maiden name is super easy and common, so I think that was a part of it! When I offered previous family names (mother's, grandparents', etc), all of which were like 10+ letters and super Germanic, he declined.

Be prepared for some questions. No one has batted an eye at me changing my last name, but they definitely have with him. When we got our marriage license, they asked him (not as an official question but conversational) if he was changing his last name because of his father! Nope, but even if that was the reason, that seems like a bit of a personal question.

I wish mine would lol.. I don’t plan on Changing my last name and he’s upset about so I told him he can change his to mine and he LOL... so that was that..

My FH and I have talked extensively about this! I really want him to change his last name to mine and he is leaning towards it. My last name is really special to my family and it has a lot of history attached to it, but he is not attached to his last name at all. He is still undecided though. I hope he takes my name!

My FH will be taking my last name as well 😊his idea too, although I’m quite happy he suggested it.

I joked about FH taking my name and he agreed to do it immediately. I've always thought my name would change, but I'm actually considering it.

My FH also wants to take my last name! lol I told him we could switch 😂 I have a feeling he isn’t being too serious but if he is then that’s fine too
