Diamond Resorts-hawaii

Catherine, on January 13, 2020 at 1:40 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3
Went to a travel show with some friends. The door prize was Diamond resorts. You spin the wheel to win something.

The women helping us offered my friend this great deal of a 3 night trip for 4 , a cruise on a bunch of reputable cruise lines for 2 and a 7 night resort stay for 4 and a $100 visa for $240 All she had to do was attend a 120 minute seminar on the resort.
She immediately bought in. After we left I kept thinking about it. I spoke to my mom who told me to purchase it. The seminar seemed easy enough to sit through. I figured I’d use the resort stay for a honeymoon.
My sister caught wind of the deal and immediately met us to purchase a trip for her honeymoon after my friend asked if Hawaii was included(it is)
Upon research Diamond Resorts is a timeshare company that is very pushy. Probably the most pushy out there.
I joined a member group(basically frustrated members) and asked for advice on how to approach it. I have 10 days to get a full refund. One person told me to look into the Hawaii claim because she’d never heard of that. Most just said to say no.
Just looking for any advice people might have. I’m super skeptical about the whole thing. My friend seems ok with it and basically said she’d be firm in saying no.

I advise that you get the refund and run

Im confused- all of that for $240? That is so very clearly a "too good to be true" situation. Total scam.

Yes, they say one in 10 people spend over $50k a year on their timeshare so they can afford to do it. But even if I just go on the first trip it’s worth it.
