Devastated 😫🙃

Allie, on September 25, 2022 at 8:16 PM Posted in Planning 1 9
Our wedding is in four days and every thing seems to be falling apart.

The first thing is my fiancé’s family is from Florida and half of them can’t come because there’s a massive hurricane coming. He called out of work to get some things situated because it happened so last minute and today at work, he was FIRED for missing even though his employer knew the situation.
I’m at a loss for words right now and don’t know what to do. 😢

Oh gosh I m sorry this past week has been a tough one. I hope your fiancé's family stay safe, any chance they can move their flights up a few days to avoid the hurricane(easier said than done I know)? If not just know they wanted to be there and if power outages aren't an issue then maybe you can live stream it for the people missing the event. As far as your husband's job that stinks they weren't more understanding but hopefully he will end up finding an even better opportunity. Try to keep your chin up the most important thing is in 4 days you will be married to your love. Sending you a big hug, hope some really good things come your way. Enjoy your special daySmiley heart

I'm am so sorry to hear this especially so close to the wedding date. I would definitely do a live stream of the wedding for those that are unable to make it, and with live stream they have extended time so that people can view it after the fact. I am also sad to hear that they couldn't be more understanding with your fiance and his situation, just be there for him I can only imagine how stressful that is for him. Will keep you in prayer that he will find something better and that you will both be able to enjoy this special day that is upon you. Try not to stress out to much... easier said than done. We'll be keeping you in our thoughts.

I’m so sorry to hear that. A special situation happened to me years ago and I just want you to know that everything is going to be FINE, I know the stress is too much but keep going, don’t stop your wedding and make it , God always is going to help you guys and your future husband is going to find the perfect job for him.

As difficult as it seems, there is always always hope. You may have to modify some of your expectations, but it is going to be OK. Rely on your support system. Everything does not have to be perfect to still be wonderful. Prayers for you and your fiance. The recent disappointments will only make your special even more magical. I just know it is going to be fine. Stay strong!

Thank you to everyone who commented. It really helped when I was in panic mode. 😅

His sister and mother made the drive not long after hearing the forecast so we are trying to look at it as getting to spend some extra time with them instead of being upset that his whole family won’t be celebrating with us. We’ve made arrangements to visit during Christmas and dress up again just for pictures. 🥰
As for his job, he is still upset but we’re remaining positive because another better opportunity is coming. We are keeping our heads up and not letting these hiccups ruin our excitement! 💕

I m so happy to hear his sister and mom could drive to you. Hope your fiancé's family all stay safe. It s easy sometimes to focus on the negative things that happen and when we do it feels like it multiplies but try instead to put your energy and attention on the positive things and hopefully instead those feelings will multiply. Your husband will get another job and here's hoping it will be a much better fit/opportunity for him but now he has some extra time to get ready for the day and be with his mom and sister. Sending much love to you, enjoy this exciting time. Someone once told me everything will never go right on your wedding day but it can still be amazing. Congrats to you both! Cheers!Smiley heart

I'm so sorry you guys are going through this. Hopefully everyone stays safe! Smiley heart

And if your fiancé's job can't be understanding about an emergency, it sounds like he's way better off without them. He can use this time to devote to his family, the wedding, and enjoying himself (as much as possible given the circumstances). There's plenty of jobs out there that I'm sure would be a better fit. Sending you all the hugs and good vibes!
