Details/info Card

Lizbeth, on June 14, 2019 at 10:02 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10
Looking for some wording ideas on pinterest regarding info and details card I found this. Most importantly the last part.what do you think? Tacky? OK?
This is not mine and I am not thinking of doing this but what are your thoughts in this types of situations?

I just don't see the need for it. At least in my area (NY/NJ), it is standard to give cash/check as a gift at a wedding. You don't need to ask for it. If you do, you may risk offending someone. I don't know how many people would read that and get the sudden epiphany to give cash because they had never had the idea before.

I agree, we won't be putting anything like this at all, and we won't even have a registry. But it is curious how some people just put it out there.

I’ve never seen anything like that written on a details card and I’ve never seen physical gifts given at a wedding. In my social circle, cash/checks are all that’s given at weddings so this would just be over the top and unnecessary.

I actually don't quite see anything wrong with the card. sure it isn't necessary but it also isnt rudely worded or anything. I think just letting people know what their options are is ok. I don't think people need to think too much about something like this in terms of if it is rude or tacky. it is purely informational and that is that.

I agree! But I do see why people would put something like this though 🤔

I see your appoint and I agree. I believe that you as a host know your guests and can adjust your stationary accordingly

I'd leave off the wishing well. If you don't register, people get the hint you want cash.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with it but it is definitely a know your crowd thing.
