Details forgotten

Danielle, on September 24, 2019 at 9:41 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi all- I am having an OCT 2020 wedding and I am thankfully very ahead on the planning. We have booked our venue (with catering), DJ, photographer and florist. We have both gotten our outfits for the day, asked our bridal parties, purchased extra decorations and done our engagement pictures. Once our engagement pictures come back we will send save the dates! My question is, being so far ahead I keep worrying that I am forgetting details for the big day. Can people share details that are usually forgotten or for those already married, things they wish they has thought of. Thanks!

Good work being on top of things! I really didn’t find myself able to think about specific details until a few months out. Like little things like which pictures we were bring to decorate, what we wanted to use as our guest book etc. I think it depends on the area your wedding is in but the one thing I wished me looked into earlier (we were at like 8 months out vs your year) was transportation and our rehearsal dinner space. It definitely depends on your plans for these things but we had limited choices when we went to book these 6-8 months out. Also I would start thinking of any invites, paper goods like signs or programs and decor that will have good Black Friday deals so you’re prepared!

I forgot really small things. for instance i somehow forgot napkins for our diy cocktail hour until my mom was like -- so you have cups and drink dispensers... but what about napkins? aha. there were things i didn't even think about packing for myself either such as a toothpick or floss for when i eat! i had to get my moh to find me a toothpick at the venue because i had stuff in my teeth when i ate!

Hey Danielle! Congratulations on being so on top of everything!! Well done! What is your venue like?

When writing checklists, I try my best to think about the event from the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to sleep. For your wedding, I think it would be a good idea to start a few different lists on your phone like a packing list for yourself and for the groom, a list of vendors that you will need to hire/contact, a list of items that you need to buy for the venue. By having these lists on your phone, you will be able to jot them down as soon as you think of another item before you forget it!!
