Detachable sleeves

Annamarie, on May 24, 2017 at 6:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8

Hey ladies!

Does anyone have experience with detachable sleeves for their wedding dress? I have a princess style dress with a sweetheart neck. I really want to add a sleeve. Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, on another note. The bustle scares me a little, but I will need it for sure since my dress has a train. Suggestions on style?

I'm not sure about detachable but when I bought my dress I was able to buy an extra yard of fabric so that during alterations I could have sleeves built (maybe still not sure about it)! Maybe they could do buttons on the sleeves inside so you can detach them??

( FH and I share acct he's not buying dress lol)

I added sleeves to mine!! I didn't want a strapless dress but I fell in love with one. I found a dress topper from Davids bridal that will be hooked in under my dress and I can take it off at the reception. This way I will be able to dance better.

I know you can get cap sleeves that detach from the gown I am sure you can get 3/4 or full length ones that do as well.

I had detachable sleeves made for my gown. I wore them for pics and the ceremony, took them off for the reception. Loved having a different look!

For bustle-I had an English bustle and loved it-but it only works on certain styles

ETA-they had snaps and like bra hook type things to secure them on, but came off in 10 sec!

    Here's a pic with sleeves..

This is without..,and the back so you can see a bustle example

ETA-sleeves really aren't too bad to have custom made if you can't find what you're looking for but many bridal salons carry options for adding sleeves and there are endless options online!

I too fell in love with a strapless dress, so I’m looking for detachable sleeves or a lace coverlet or bolero. I’d prefer the detachable sleeves because I would like the addition to look cohesive, like it’s a part of the dress. I’ve looked online and found something on Etsy, but it seems a bit pricey. What are my options?
