Destination Wedding with kids - need suggestions!

Laura, on June 17, 2019 at 7:40 AM Posted in Planning 0 4
I have no idea where to begin now that we’re engaged 🙈 We’re leaning towards a destination wedding, and have 3 kids between us. We’d orobably have 20 people or less in our group, and we want a place with a good mix of romantic and fun.
We LOVE Cabo, but I want to hear more options, especially from those who have experience. Totally open to any suggestions.
Would prefer it to be at an all-inclusive resort and not in the US.

I had a destination wedding and I’m from south Florida. Cabos was just a mission for a flight for those only going for the weekend since is more far away therefor more expensive. Cabo is beautiful and it has amazing hotels but you have to be careful with what hotel you pick as they have lots of open hotels where nudity is allow. I say this since you’re traveling with the kids.
For kids I recommend a hotel that has lots of kids activity, camps, water park as so on. I only had 1 kid at our wedding but I was expecting 3 or 4 so I plan for them. I got married at Playa del Carmen near Cancun. I stayed with all the guest at an all inclusive hotel but my wedding was outside the hotel. This made for a lot more planning but is what I wanted.
Mexico in general is a great place for weddings. They have excellent service, a huge variety of options and the vendors are very talented and creative.

    Congratulations on your engagement Laura!!

The distance you are willing to travel may depend on the ages of your 3 children. As you know, traveling can be exhausting, especially for children! If you are planning on a long flight, make sure to travel a couple of days in advance of your wedding so that they have gotten over their tiredness and aren’t cranky!

For your wedding, I would choose a hotel or resort that offers lots of activities for children so that they won’t get bored since you and your SO will be quite busy in the run up to your wedding!

Thank y’all ☺️ I think we’ve settled on Dreams in Cabo! They have a Kids’ Club and we’ll have activities for the wedding party (humpback whale tour, golf, deep sea fishing) for all that want to participate.
Super excited!! But it’s definitely a lot to take in, trying to plan for a wedding at a place I can’t see. And I’m a control freak so this is way out of my comfort zone.
