Destination Micro-wedding Reception

Hello! My fiancé and I are exploring a lot of different venues/settings, but know we want to keep it very small (like 20 people max). Inviting just immediate family and a few friends is way more us- we want the evening to feel intimate and less of a performance (nothing against big weddings, just not our vibe!)

One idea is to do a boutique hotel type setting or rent a private estate for the weekend (Friday-Sunday) and make it an all weekend affair. Wherever we go, there will be lots to do in whatever town/city we are in for the rest of the weekend, but I’m stuck on what the wedding reception will look like.
I don’t think a DJ would make sense as it is only 20 people and not really a dancing crowd. Is it appropriate for us to just do a first dance without there being a full dance floor/DJ set up? Also, I feel like if I’m asking people to travel to our wedding, we need to treat them to more fun of an evening than just dinner and drinks on the night of our wedding.
Has anyone done something similar, and what did the night’s timeline look like for you? Think a little more luxe and intimate vs a casual micro wedding. Thanks so much!

One couple recently has their plan for a beachside reception and an early wedding. Then people that want to hang out at the beach could do so and possibly have a fire pit to hang out at. Also, an ocean or lake setting might allow for enjoyment of nature or of boating or enjoyment of a harbor scene. It probably can work out decently if you have some choice of activities as possible in these aforementioned locations. Maybe a restaurant or bar has live music and dancing. Or, people just keep celebrating.

Some places may have ziplines. Or like Palm Spring which has spas, restaurants, nearby casinos, and a tram up to the snowcapped mountain. You may also find art-focused areas. Scottsdale Arizona has some areas like that. And there are party buses/trolleys -- or I think that is what those are. haha.
