Destination Honeymoon

I'm getting marry next May but due to the lack of vacation days from work (new job) and funds, we're debating where to go for our honeymoon. We thought about postponing until Spring of 2021. I really would love to go to Europe but we don't speak or understand any of the languages spoken there besides English. Which of the European Countries, do you guys think is easier to navigate and also be self sufficient? I love to sight see and food. My fiance is a homebody. He's happy in a hotel room in the next city.

Also, how long would you recommend the trip to be? I figured if I'm going out of the country, two weeks would be great. If not Europe, I would love to visit an Asian country. I went to Japan a few years ago and loved it there.

My daughter married in November and they went to Italy the following April. They went for 10 nights and loved every minute of it. They didn’t have trouble navigating the language. Have fun planning!

Most of the Western European countries have enough English around for you to get by, or almost everyone speaks English for you to ask questions to. If I were to go back to Europe I would do Ireland or Italy as they were by far my favorite. I would say generally 10 days is good, 14 if you really want to be submerged in the culture. But I found a lot of times after that 14 day mark I start getting pretty homesick.

Hey Pang! It's totally fine to wait and plan the honeymoon of your dreams. There is no rule that says you must go straight after your wedding. It sounds like a great idea to me.

Have you narrowed down any European country that you would like to visit? I'm from Ireland so have visited quite a few different EU cities. I also only speak English and have never run into any trouble at all.

Would you like to go to one country/city for your two-week vacation, or would you be more interested in traveling to some different locations?

Almost all Euro countries speak English and are multilingual. That being said, if you can take a mini moon right after the wedding for a few days to keep the spirit of your newly wedded bliss alive, I would. Take the few days of unpaid leave, you'll thank yourselves.
