Dessert

Jory, on May 21, 2019 at 12:16 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 8
So when I individually count my guests. I am at about 600 people invited. That is counting kids and adults. I haven't gotten my rsvps back but i am trying to plan my dessert table.
I for sure am doing a small cake and then donuts and cupcakes. Has anyone done a variety dessert bar and can relate to this post? And how many donuts and cupcakes did you order?

I'm sure whoever is making the donuts and cupcakes would be able to give you an accurate number. But I know we are doing donuts and they said 1 - 1.5 per guest so we are getting two per guest plus a handful of extras to be safe.

Yes. Small cake to cut and then donuts for guests.

We were told 1.5 normal size desserts per guest, or 2.5 if they are mini desserts.

When we were calculating servings for cake I told my bakery that we have about 275-300 people. She mentioned that in her experience men don't eat cake or dessert, especially if they have been drinking. Women will sometimes pass because "diets". She said it is safe to go 20% less than your guest count on servings. I would say you are safe with 1 per guest figuring some people will have none and some will have 2. Also you should figure on a 25-30% decline for RSVPs so 420-450 would be more accurate.

I feel Iike at every wedding I have been to, the guys are dessert. I would not disagree with the overall number and how that would be less than the number of your actual guests, but I think it is so weird that she specifically mentioned that.
