Dessert table?

Kristina, on September 18, 2018 at 3:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
So I am considering doing a dessert table instead of a big cake for my wedding. I’ll still do a small cake for to cut but what kind of desserts can I do that’s not ALL candy?

Hi Kristina! Welcome to the WeddingWire community! This sounds like a really fun idea! There are so many options to have at your dessert table that aren't candy! You can do cheesecake, pies (mini apple pies, key lime pies, oreo pies), cookies, donuts, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, fruit tarts, cake-pops, the options are endless! Is there any particular theme of desserts you want to have (i.e. fruity, chocolaty, etc.) Here are a few photos for inspiration!

These two are my inspiration for my dessert table, just the desserts ideas themselves, the color and designs would match my wedding style. There is enough variety for everyone to have something they would enjoy.

We're doing pop tarts from a local bakery in lieu of cake! They are making them for us in 6 different flavor/filling combinations. We love that it will be an easy grab-and-go while people are busy dancing!

We are doing a small cutting cake for pictures. Then brownies, cookies, cupcakes, and cake pops! Then probably some candy bowls.

Look into a cream puff tower!! They look soooooo pretty, and hey...cream puffs are delish!

Mini cupcakes, cookies, chocolate fondue fountains (with fresh fruits for dipping) and s'mores stations (if you have an outdoor wedding) are also quite popular.

Macarons, cake pops, brownie squares, cookies, mini cupcakes, donuts, any "bars" like lemon bars, any mini bite-size cake, really!

This is what we're doing! Our cake will serve about half of our guests. We're supplementing with cupcakes, cookies, lemon bars, rum balls, creme puffs, donuts and miscellaneous homemade treats. It's your day - do what you guys like! Smiley smile

We chose a selection of mini-desserts and pastries from the bakery that is doing my daughter's cutting cake:

Cake Pops, Rugelah tarts (three flavors), assorted brownies, french macarons, mini-donuts, mini-whoopie pies.

The cutting cake serves 30, so that will be sliced as well and put on the buffet for anyone to enjoy.

Hi! We are also doing a dessert table. We are doing some candy and probably things like pies, donuts (you can get sugared or powdered if you are worried about melting frosting), and all sorts of cookies!!! You could also do pound cakes, cheese cakes (large or mini), and/or cake pops. We are going to grab a little bit of everything so we have a variety for our guests. It'll look really fun and cute!

We are doing a Candy Bar. My FH and daughter are huge candy fans. He doesn't really like cake or any other dessert. But can literally eat candy all day everyday. We are going to have some kind of bag or box with some cute Thank You saying and kinda make that the favor
