Dessert Options - Traditional or Practical?

Chelsea, on September 21, 2020 at 5:17 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 16
In the spirit of variety and trying to have options with reasonable portions, we've decided on cookies, brownie bites, and assorted mini bundt cakes from a local bakery (lemon, red velvet, chocolate, fall spice).

Would you be disappointed without traditional cake or happy for the options and knowing you could taste all 3 since they're small?

I always thought that options like these are great for guests. Surprisingly, not everyone likes cake (idk I don't get it), so having a variety of things like this makes for a wonderful spread for people with all kinds of taste. As a dessert lover, I'd be trying everything lol but no I would not think twice about the fact that this is non traditional.

Some people do a dessert table and honestly if I wad a guest at your wedding that would be fine with me. We were originally going to get our cake from nothing bundt cakes have a two tier one then the mini bundts for our guests. We are now doing cupcakes and a regular cake because we went with an all inclusive venue to help with costs.

Lol yes! I like cake, but I'm more of a plain cake kind of person (think pound cake, not too wild about a lot of frosting) and I like variety as well so I'm with you to want to try everything. I also wanted some apple crumb bars (like a lemon bar) and didn't see the need to go super big on cake since it's a brunch wedding anyway 🤗

Do what works best for you. Most guests will be happy with whatever you offer.

What most people dont realize is that cake, cupcakes, mini bundts are all the same thing in a different presentation. If someone doesn't like cake, a cupcake is the exact same..cake and icing. Go the opposite direction with pie or cookies.

My FH dislikes cake. Our venue offers a dessert bar that we will take advantage of it plus getting a small cake to cut.

I love when there are multiple options for desserts! It makes it so there is something for everyone!

They say dessert tables like this with multiple small options gets your dessert eaten up best! Guests are more likely to eat when they don't need to commit to a full size cake piece. We're gonna do the same, but with a small cake for us because I loooove cake. 💕

I would be thrilled! I am not a huge cake lover in the traditional sense so I am not a fan of all the frosting so the bundt cakes would be perfect! I think it is a great idea!

I like the variety. We did a wedding cake as well as a full dessert bar with several options. Our guests love having options, and most for a little of each!

Cake is definitely not necessary, especially with all those other dessert options! Dessert is important, but not cake specifically .
We skipped cake and had a berry shortcake bar (various berries, fresh whipped cream, and biscuits) and it was a huge hit and no one missed traditional cake !

I'm picky when it comes to cake lol. I have control over our cake so I know I'd eat it but we will also have a dessert table just in case others don't want or like cake. Variety is always a plus in my book.
