Dessert Displays

Erika, on May 5, 2021 at 1:47 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

I'm doing a dessert table. There will be cupcakes, decorated sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, red velvet cookies, choco covered pretzel rods, rock candy, apple fritters, glazed donuts, and cheesecake bites. We are also doing a "bride & groom cake." It will be a small 2 tier cake, no bigger than a 1st bday smash cake. That will be the center of attention on the table. How should I display everything? specifically the cupcakes. Where does everyone find their cake, cupcake, dessert stands?

You can rent stands from your baker. Take a look at Pinterest for ideas

Before we switched our postponed wedding to a micro destination wedding, we had planned a dessert table. I can tell you that our bakery had all the proper cake stands, and she came up with the layout that highlighted all of the beautiful tiny desserts, with our cutting cake in the middle. Check with your baker.

Also, like Michelle said, Pinterest is a great source for ideas on the look.

In that case, you should be able to find what you need at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Once you decide on how you want it to look, you can use almost anything to create the display. Example: one of my friends put different height boxes on the table, then covered the whole thing with a pretty tablecloth. Then the desserts were on pretty plates and trays, displayed at varying heights depending on the height of the boxes. It was really pretty, and you couldn't tell that underneath were just a bunch of old shoe boxes she had collected.

You can rent from a local party rental business. Cheaper than purchasing unless you plan to use the displays in your home for entertaining (picnics, parties, etc). If you plan to keep them, try efavortmart.com

Our baker supplied everything for our wedding, but we had cupcake towers at our rehearsal dinner/welcome party. We bought a couple of 4-tiered cupcake stands from the Tablecloths Factory website. They were pretty good quality and very easy to re-sell on Facebook marketplace after our wedding.

I got the cutest cake stands from marshalls. And while there I saw they also have trays that could go on a dessert table too! They are with the cake stands and some have multiple sizes/match
