Designer Wedding Shoes.... Are they really worth the cost?

LCC611, on April 18, 2014 at 10:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14

I really want to purchase a pair of royal blue Badgley Mischka or Kate Spade shoes. I just don't know if they are really worth the splurge. I'm worried that I will rarely have an opportunity after the wedding to wear them. Do any of you ladies own a pair of these shoes? What are your thoughts?

I don't think they are worth it. If you really love how they look and you plan on wearing them afterwards then sure. Personally I never think it is worth it to buy something just because it is designer. There is always something nicer that is not a designer name.

I have Kate Spade shoes. I fell in love with the sparkle and felt they were perfect for my wedding day. I couldn't find anything else that compared. So, to me they were worth the $350. But, they are just shoes and it really depends on whether you can comfortably afford them. If the shoes will take money away from more important parts of your wedding or end up as credit card debt, they probably aren't worth it.

Well I was looking at them and found them to be really expensive, if I do end up getting a pair it would be from 6pm.com they have them for almost or more than half of what they retail at stores. Was there a particular one you liked?

@yuly I really like the Badgley Buzz Decorated Peep Toe Pump. Also, I like the Kate Spade New York Madison shoe. I will check out the 6pm website.

I think it depends on who you ask. If you ask me, I would say that they are very pretty shoes that are also extremely comfortable, and worth the cost. However my mom would tell you that they are pretty but not very comfortable, so she would say they aren't worth it. If you really have your heart set on them I would suggest checking out places like Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls and TJMaxx. I have seen NR carry the royal blue peep toe Badgley Mischka shoes and Marshalls and TJMaxx carry the white glittery slingback heels with the bow (I don't remember the name). Another option is trying to buy them preowned on eBay. Good luck!

I bought a pair of cheaper shoes just to see if they would work. I'm still undecided but I have the Brian Atwood silver wedges in my shopping cart just in case! My deadline is July when I'm getting my first fitting done!

I bought a pair of stuart weitzman shoes that were fabulous but they destroyed my feet. They seemed ok when I bought them on the padded Nordstrom carpet but after I wore them I got terrible foot pain and blisters. Thank god Nordstrom has a great return policy.

Nope. Not to me. I bought some regular 9 west(I think, I got them at kohls!) shiny taffeta looking shoes that are black, and am on the hunt for 2 matching purple brooches to add bling to them.

With a couple coupons, they were $17 ;-)

AND I can wear them again. I've already worn them once lol

I think anything over 120 is over the top. I got mine on sale. Betsey Johnson blue collection on sale. They were comfortable and cute.

Personally, I can't justify spending more than $150 for a pair of shoes. I believe there are plenty of mid-range shoes that are just as lovely and comfortable as ones that carry the higher price tags.

Now a good Coach purse that I carry every day... ;-)

I'm a shoe person so to me it's totally worth it. I buy shoes when I travel to different countries for work. I've even had guests say they can't wait to see my shoes!

I don't think they are, although I did consider it at one time. I wore black pumps I already had and I'm so glad I did. There's other things I needed to spend the money on. Plus, I knew I would be changing into my cowboys boots for the reception, so I wouldn't have been wearing them long anyway.
