Deposits & Monthly Installments

Christina, on October 18, 2013 at 12:36 AM Posted in Planning 0 5

I am planning in southern California. One of the venues we are looking at has a deposit that is almost $3,000. They also require you to make monthly payments of at least $125 to keep your date. I've heard of deposits, but I have never of required monthly payments. Anybody else experiencing this?

We didn't have monthly deposits but since we booked a little over a year in advance we had to provide deposits at month 6 and month 12. It did help with doing so as our wedding is 2 weeks away and we don't have much more to pay out for the venue. Good luck!

I never heard of it being required, but we plan on doing that with all of our vendors and venue. Makes it easier and we won't have a huge sum of money to pay out 2-3 weeks before the wedding!

For our first venue that was postponed we put down 1500.00 and had to make 125.00 payments each month as well. Im getting married in San Diego and that Venue is Twin Oaks Garden Estates. I heard now the deposits were way more, like 2500.00. I was never really consistent with making my monthly payments and they never ever got on my butt about it.

Im now rebooking at the Grand Tradition and we are puttin 1500.00 down and make a percentange of the balance 9 months and I think 3 months before the wedding. Im not sure. I forget. What venue are you getting married at?

We had a $2000 deposit and from that point on we are required to make $2000 payments every other month. It is helpful to know we already have a big chunk paid but sometimes it's a bit of a squeeze to make the payment.
