Deposit to Florist

BayBride2017, on August 21, 2016 at 12:43 PM Posted in Planning 0 23

What is the average deposit (%) paid to florists? I'm in the DC area and starting to look at various florists. What's factored into this deposit so that I can give further details of necessary. 7 BM bouquets, 1 bridal, 10 boutonnieres.

I am not sure. We did half. I don't see any mention of corsages. Just making sure if they are needed you didn't forget lol

I had to put $100 down. My estimate was $850 but $100 is her standard deposit whether the flowers are $400 or $3000. $100 has been the deposit for every vendor I've booked (maybe that's a regional thing?!)

Our quote was $2,000-$2,500. We put down $500.

I haven't met with a florist yet. I have been debating diy bouquets, etc.

I did forget about corsages! Thank you!

Oh I forgot to add one groom boutonnière which is slightly different from the rest of the boutonnières.

Our florist said 50% when I signed and the other 50% a week before the wedding.

We had to put down $250 (refundable) initially to hold the date then 25% of the estimate with the signed contract within 4 weeks of the initial $250

Our total was $1300, we made a deposit of $500, that saves the date and goes towards total bill.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I really am trying to cut costs where possible.

Aside from that, my FH and I have a savings account for everything, but just want to have any idea of everything. I hate financial surprises.

I'm sure it varies by florist but mine required a 30% deposit. I could not alter the order down by more than 15% after that (so I could add to it if I wanted, but not lessen the order). Then the payment was due in full one month before the wedding so the flowers could be ordered. I'm in the Baltimore area, btw!
