Deposit for hair and makeup appointment

Jayme, on May 5, 2017 at 9:51 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

I am having engagement photos done later this month and I have decided to try out a local studio specializing in bridal hair and makeup. They have asked me to pay the full estimated amount in order to secure the reservation. Is this usual practice and in line with industry standard?

I had to put a deposit of $25.00 per person. If someone shows up late they up charge you. My final total will depend on what stylists do what that day. The salon has tiers of stylists. I would say that is really unusual for a full payment. Do anticipate upcharge for a large party.

I had to put down deposit of $100, which covers my hair and makeup for the day. I kind of like the idea since i won't have to worry about paying for that the day of the wedding.

I had to put a $25 deposit on my hair trial and i paid the balance when i had the trial..... i honestly hated my hair and won't be going back to her! I wouldn't pay in full until the actual trial.

I have never heard of needing to put down a deposit on a trial let alone pre-pay. If the place is reputable and you really want to use them, that's your choice. I would not pay for a service in full that I haven't received. When you book a massage or a manicure, you don't have to pre-pay, so you shouldn't for this. Totally understand paying a deposit for wedding day H&M but not for the trial.

I've never heard of having to put down a deposit for a trial...that seems over kill. My hair and make up artists required a 50% deposit of the expected day of wedding totals (For everyone getting hair and makeup done) then the remaining half day of.

I had to put down half the total amount of the wedding day services in order to reserve my date. The trial is paid in full on the day of the trial.

My hair and make up total is $ 900 and my deposit was $50. I think it depends on the vendor.

I do not have to pay a deposit for my trial, and just had to pay a 50% deposit for the actual wedding day. I would definitely not pay in full for services to be rendered in the future.

I think every stylist is different. I will have to put half down at the trial (book the day) and the remaining day of for both makeup and hair.
