Deployed Groomsmen

Jessica, on January 27, 2020 at 9:25 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9
Hi yall! One of my groomsmen who is my bff4l!!! Is going to be deployed during our wedding.. super bummer but duty calls. We were thinking of getting a life size cut of him with our wedding attire on and having one of the girls walk it down the aisle. And have guests take pictures with his cut out through out the night. Thoughts? Thanks!

This is really cute and funny. I’m not sure about having the bridesmaid walk down the aisle with the cutout, but I love the idea of having “him” at the wedding! Please do that! Such a sweet gesture that I know your deployed friend would really appreciate.

That is a strong possibility for one of our groomsmen (aka my FH's brother) will not be able to be at our wedding. He's in the Army and moving to a new base in a few months, and it's up in the air what he'll be doing or where he'll be in a year and a half since he just reupped. We're not sure what we'll do if he can't be there, but I'd also like to see any ideas that some people might come up with and I think the cutout idea is hilarious lol.

I think that's a super cute idea! Maybe someone could facetime him (if he can make it work) during the wedding too?

A friend did this for her daughter's wedding as her son was deployed and couldn't attend. She ordered a life size cardboard cutout of a celebrity who was close to his build in a nice suit and they glued his face on it. Everyone took photos with "Nick" all night and they sent them to him. Hilarious Smiley smile

We also have a groomsmen who is now deploying (my fiance and almost all the groomsmen are all in the service) and his wife will still be attending without him (she'll be bringing a friend as her +1) I think the cutout is a funny idea as a hypothetical, but I think it would be kind of tacky in execution. Unless he is very well known amongst all or nearly all of your wedding guests, I think it would be a little much.
