Delays and falling out with bridesmaids

Light, on August 12, 2020 at 7:09 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9

Hey Girls,

I'm honestly looking for a bit of support, as many of you I'm pretty worn down now and NC has extended the phase, so now we are looking at pulling the wedding back to VA. The worst part is that I feel like I have fallen out with half of my bridal party. This has made it even harder as I feel like I'm about to start all over again with no support as I also lost my grandma who raised me about a year ago.

I've always dreamed of an aquarium wedding, but now I'm feeling like it may not be worth it, and going with something simple just to get it over with would be best.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I live in NC (getting married in FL) and still can't believe he just extended Phase 2 and didn't make any modifications to it.

I know it's hard and having little to no support from family and friends makes it even more difficult. You have a community here that's always willing to help and offer a lending ear.

Don't let our Gov. take away the joy of your day. If you get to marry your love on the day you planned and who cares what modifications had to take place then 2020 wasn't so bad after all.

If we can survive Covid, Killer Hornets, the 17 year Cicadas, Hurricanes and an Earthquake (don't forget the midwest Derecho) - WE.GOT.THIS... Your strong, beautiful and don't let your beautiful day go.

    YOU.GOT.THIS

What happened with your bridesmaids? Have you spoken to them if there's an issue? That's the best thing. In regards to your dream wedding I would wait. You can do what many Brides are doing which is small ceremony and bigger wedding later. I think of you want your dream wedding you should have it. I am sorry you're feeling down and I am sending positive vibes.

I've tried talking with them multiple times, one is angry with me for not attending a large party she was having and the other seems to have just shut down. My fiance is a one and done sort of guy, he has told me he has no desire to have more than one wedding, which is fair since he has always hated parties.

We live on the Nc state line so those would be too far for us. Anything outside a 2 hour won't work with family.

As the friend who briefly shut down during the pandemic, I hope that you won't take her actions to heart unless she shares with you that she is unhappy in the friendship. Sometimes people just don't have the capacity to worry about anyone but themselves when things get tough. That said, I'm sorry about this situation, it just stinks. I don't think you should give up on your wedding vision just yet though because you deserve and can 100% plan a wonderful day, even with the pandemic. Can FH step up and help?
