Definition of BrideZILLA

R-Lynn, on June 10, 2010 at 8:14 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

I have been in a horrible, grouchy, touchy, very emotional mood for the past few days. Minus Monday because I got to go pick my dress up. But a co-worker called me Bridezilla. I thought that was when you were being all bitching to ppl about you wedding. He says he thinks I'm stressed because of the Wedding planning causeing me to be bitchy therefore its bridezilla. I DONT WANT TO BE A BRIDEZILLA!! Smiley sad Smiley sad I hate being in these kinds of moods. I have been snaping at everyone. My parents, friends, family. But not about wedding stuff, just about everyday stuff.

Honestly, the phrase is SOOO overused it's not even funny. Just because you want something a certain way means you are a "bridezilla"... because you won't put up with rude behavior you are a "bridezilla". People use the term because they know it's rude and it gets to you. My MIL does it all the time when she wants to get to me... sometimes it works but most of the time I just ignore her LOL. Honestly, when you are putting down so much money towards a wedding you have the right to have certain expectations about it. PERIOD. Does that give you the right to be a bit*&? No. But, like in my case, something saying that favors were a waste of time and I didn't want to do them didn't make me a bridezilla (my MIL seemed to think so)

I hate the word Bridezilla. Like, the moment you express an emotion other than rainbows and sunshine you are labelled a bridezilla. Isn't there any leeway for the normal ebbs and flows of a woman's emotions?

Okay having watched the horrible TV show about bridezillas. I really don't see any of us on here being one. If your bad mood doesn't have anything to do with demanding everyone be all about your wedding all the time you are not one. :-)

Just tell him to bite you and having a period doesn't make you a bridezilla considering you will have many more and continue to work with him so he might want to keep that in mind for the next coming month. OH Wait that's what I would say lol. Hun your not a Bridezilla, your not stomping your foot demanding that everything go your way and you didn't crush little man for daring to be such a *beep* to you, which a bridezilla would have. *shrugs* your being an emotional woman, same as all of us.
