Defeating chub rub/chafing under a ball gown

MrsRidley, on March 4, 2017 at 11:10 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 34

I have always had super thick thighs that rub together and create awful chub rub. Sometimes I use deodorant and sometimes I use a little powder. Sometimes it's works, and sometimes it doesn't.

I was just thinking about my ball gown wedding dress and how much I may be sweating under that thing. Any ideas on how I can defeat chub rub on my wedding day. It's so painful and that would ruin my day.

I was thinking of a full body undergarment? Shit I even thought of putting a fan under the sweetheart table.

I have found quality deodorant works really well. I plan to reapply between ceremony and reception and at least once during reception just in case!

Oceankissed- what's the brand of the deodorant? I have really sensitive skin so I have broken out before from using deodorant too. I try not to do it often.

Blair- thanks! I was thinking that but they may roll up a lot. I have spandex shorts and they either end up as "coochie cutters" or just roll completely up my thighs

CMC, I didn't even see it. Let me search for it. I usually do search for things before I post but I was being lazy.

    BODY GLIDE

Body Glide is your answer! I have several friends who swear by this product for chafing and chub rub. You can pick it up at Target or Walmart. I would suggest trying it out. Its a life saver!

I have found only two things that work for my chub rub, and I totally feel you - it is awful.

Monistat Anti-Chafing gel: GAME CHANGER for a product to apply.

I also tried Bandelettes as well, and those are great as long as you buy the right size. Mine are slightly too large and sometimes slide, but have been a life saver for summer weddings. I have them in black and nude. They look like lace, almost like the top of a thigh high.

I tried deodorant, body glide, gold bond, baby powder, all of that stuff, no avail. Hope that one of those helps for you as much as they have for me! Smiley smile

Grace I have briefly heard of bandlettes a while back and couldn't remember the name, so I am going to search for them and try them out.

I second Body Glide!!! That thing was my holy grail for several full summers of being heavily active. It works SO well, and I swear by it. It's like $10 and lasts a long time!

Chub rub, I love that! I just call it chaffing. I'm weird and actually buy the boxers that are longer. Can't quite think of the name atm. Extra long briefs?? Anyway, I have to wear skirts at work all the time and boxers save my thighs. Definitely go more towards briefs or whatever ones that hug your legs because regular boxers ride up.

I have put it on my hand before and you can tell there is a barrier, I think this might work! It comes in little one time use pads or a spray bottle Smiley smile

Try the Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel Powder. It looks like gel but feels like powder when you apply it!! It's like using powder without the mess. Not greasy or oily at all. Buying a tube of this is cheaper (and less constricting) than spanx. Hope you find something that works for you because nobody likes the unplesant rubbing.

Have you tried body glide? Runners use it to prevent chafing, and it holds up through sweat and doesn't stain clothes. I use it on my arms where my sports bra meets my armpits because I always chafe there and it's magic
