Dedication dance to parents and siblings to replace father/daughter dance.

Reina, on November 17, 2011 at 11:30 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 4

It is not in our tradition to do a father/daughter dance. I was thinking in place I would dedicate a dance to my parents who have been married 44 years, and have each of my siblings (5) and their spouses join us on the dance floor to celebrate all being married from shortest time (us) to longest of the siblings 13 years. Thoughts??

Yes, his parents would also be a part of this, but he only has one brother who is not married. I think he said he would like to include his pastor and his wife in this as well since they have been a pillar in his life since childhood.

I love that idea! I may actually borrow it. My dad and I are not terribly close, unfortunately, and for me the thought of a F/D dance is kind of awkward. My folks will have been married 38 years next year, and all five of my older cousins are married as well (no siblings). This could be perfect!

Glad you like Aidan!!! I hear a lot of people say it is akward but I do love the people who do like the random choreographed dance with their dad. It is hilarious to watch. My siblings and our spouses may do a short one just for fun Smiley smile
