Decorations for Restaurant reception?

Rene, on February 23, 2016 at 11:43 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

We are having our reception in a private room in a restaurant - do people typically decorate for that? Thinking about skipping it.

I would maybe get some flower arrangements for the tables and call it good. Decorate as you would for a normal dinner party in your home.

I went to one before and all they had was simple centerpieces and candles around the room .

^ Agree. I'd make the tables look nice, but wouldn't really bother with anything else.

If its a nice restaurant, the decor they already have in place should look nice.

Agreeing with Jeanne. NO need to decorate the room, just focus on the tables.

Rene, mini pumpkins as placecards would really dress up the tables. Maybe spread out some fake leaves. You are good to go!

Talk to the restaurant and see what type of decorations they would normally have in place. I'm doing the same thing for our reception and the restaurant already has a florist that comes in and will have candles to decorate the space. All at no additional charge. Done and done!

I'm doing a restaurant reception. I'm just adding floral centerpieces, sequin runners, and a few miscellaneous decorations on the bar and dessert tables.

^I second runners if you want to get a little fancier. I agree with the others to just focus on the tables.

We're having a restaurant wedding. For the dining room we plan on floral centerpieces for the tables and framed photos on the decorative side tables. There is also a patio we're using for cocktail hour that will house the bar. We'll have bud bases with flowers on a couple cocktail tables and the bar and a bar sign with our featured cocktail. The restaurant also has twinkle lights on the trees on the patio. That's it.

I have really only seen vases on the tables and then some photos on occasional tables/mantles. I think you're good!

We are doing up lighting and our floral budget is $1300. The tables are smaller so we are not doing large center pieces but instead many smaller arrangements, a few per table.

I think a few special touches would be cute but keep it simple

I would add decor to the table to make it special. You could do a beautiful tablescape of floral arrangements and candles down the middle of the table (assuming it's a big rectangular table). You could also do pretty menu cards and name cards for place settings. Personally, I would want to dress it up.

We had a restaurant reception, and skipped decorations entirely. After all, a restaurant has to know how to make things look elegant every day of the year--they can handle a wedding. They even made lovely personalized menus with our names on them, which were far more elegant than we could have made ourselves.

Maybe I'll just do simple pumpkins I found some neat stuff on pinterest. It's a pretty causal restaurant. We just decided there because it's out favorite place, plus there is a game area to keep the children busy which is an added bonus lol
