Decorating help?

Pang, on May 4, 2021 at 11:47 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
Hi guys. So after going through plan a, b, c, d, we said screw it. We’re having our ceremony inside of this pavilion by the lake.

Can anyone help me decorate this up a little? The picnic tables can not be move. We thought about using a simple arbor and hanging some fabric and flowers. But we’re also on a time constraint. So I need something that could easily be put up and tear down. Here are a few pictures. Excuse the horrible picture taking skills. 🙃

How much of a time constraint do you have?

We reserved the place for 2 hours only. At this point we’re just do a micro wedding. So basically we have 30mins to setup, have our ceremony, have our first dance, family photos (15 guest only) and then tear down and head to a restaurant for our reception.

Some easy, non-time consuming suggestions: table clothes and flowers on the picnic tables; wrap the stair banister with either fabric or greenery (faux greenery will work fine here); wrap more greenery around the ceiling beams.

Hi Pang. I think this will look great with little effort. I'm assuming that in July, the trees will be in full bloom and provide lots and lots of pretty "green" in the background.. this will look great against the pavilion architecture. I'd embrace this and use minimal but impactful decor to complement the setting.

Using the second picture - I would place/hang flowers on the ends of the railings (2 on right / 2 on left).

First picture - again, assuming that the picnic table in the middle can be pushed aside? I would hang fabric to create an arbor around the horizontal beam for the ceremony and place flowers on or in front of the stone pillars.

Picnic Tables - If they are clean, I wouldn't cover them with tableclothes because I think it brings more attention to them... if they need to be covered - I'd go with a natural color. Move them out of the way as best you can or position a couple to be used as seating for the ceremony if needed. I would dress up the bistro tables a bit (flower pot "centerpiece") if you are putting out any simple snacks/platters during pictures etc...

    Good luck - I think it's a perfect setting!

Unfortunately the tables are screwed into the ground. I just gotta work with them. We could just decorate the fireplace. I don’t think the tables would be too much in the way (picture wise). But we figured the lake view would be more “scenic”. Decorating help? 3

I kinda like the backside more. I have a small guest list anyways so this could be another option.

I like the backside better.. if this is an option I would just add some flowers in vases at the bottom and maybe a wreath of flowers at top(permitting you can find something to hang wreath with on fireplace). You can actually do this on both sides if you choose other route and if you have guests at picnic tables just have them sit on side facing the fireplace..add a couple runners to tables and maybe a small flower centerpiece like Mason jars with flowers you can complete beforehand..drop them
down and pick up when it's time to leave

Nice... I didn't even see the fireplace! I can totally see the backside working for your guest #s. Guests standing or sitting on the benches... or seating you bring in (white folding chairs or simple benches?) If it's too hot or rainy, use the front side - just dress up the closest picnic tables with fabric and/or flowers. Pops of color in front of / on the fireplace and it will look amazing! I wouldn't worry too much about the photos - looks like you have a number of great backdrops to work with.

Great venue! I like the backside of the fireplace for a ceremony. One large pot or vase on each side would be almost all you need and they wouldn't even necessarily need florals. I agree about the tablecloths and some strategic decoration on the stairs. Wide ribbon or fabric bows would be easy to do on the stair rails.

Honestly I would just put tablecloths on and a centerpiece. You can get away with minimal decorations and it eases your stress since you can use the extra time to socialize with guests.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to plan for the back side of the fireplace. It's easier to dress it up. Plan B would be to move it to the inside if it rains or if it's too hot.
