Hey ladies, so the dream estate we wanted to host our reception at in Colorado was put up for sale and sold recently. The new owners will not be renting the place. We didn't put any money down with them or any other vendors. So the question remains do we try to find a new estate (the next closest to where we wanted the ceremony is 30mins) or do we completely switch it up and move our mountain wedding to the beach? (my family is all in South Carolina). Anyone who is planning/been to a mountain or beach wedding have any advice? Please and thank you.

Background: no specific date yet but in Spring, family in Colorado and South Carolina, we currently live in Wyoming, colors are peach navy and rose gold

Hmmm maybe look around for another estate to have the wedding !!! Stick to original plan but then if you really can’t find one you like then switch it up

Thank you for your advice. The town is so small that there aren't any other places big enough for 50 people within 30 mins. But they're are beautiful and great size places 30 mins away. The ceremony site is my fiance's family land so it is special but there is no house/building on it.

Hey Amy! I’m sorry that your plans have been turned on their head like this. It’s great that you had not yet paid a deposit for the venue so you don’t have to deal with that added complication.

If your dress is to have your wedding at an estate with your original ceremony site, then you should definitely look into your other options. You have plenty of time so perhaps you could schedule some venue visits to see how you like them.

If your alternative site doesn’t have any buildings on it, I would inquire about whether they allow event tents to be erected. With there being no building, you will need to seriously consider the cost of all the rentals you will need, like a generator for electricity, portable toilet facilities, etc.
