Decisions Decisions

Our Wedding is set for September 27th, venue has not asked us to change our date. However, my Gown is in Brooklyn NY. I am trying to decide if I should just get it shipped and finished here in Illinois? I would have to pay someone to add the bling and do whatever might need to be done. I’m so annoyed with everything at this point. Covid has really did it in for some of us . So question is should I get my Gown shipped or just wait it out?

    Hi Keva!

If you’re set on the date and are definitely not going to change it then I would say have it shipped because what if you need alterations? Did they tell you a time frame of when it would be finished if you waited? I feel for you as I am also a bride with too many decisions to make due to covid. Good luck! ♥️

Anastasia the dress is completely finished. The only thing missing is the bling. My consultant told me that was part of the fitting process. I assume once I had tried it on they’ll see how it fits, fix it then add the bling. And Good Luck to you as well. 🤗

Yes girl, ship it! You want that dress as close to you as possible come time for the wedding! Maybe you could wait it out. NY is slowly opening, per my aunt. Maybe by July you can take a trip back up, get the bling put on and head back home. But if the salon doesn’t open by then at least you will have your dress and I’m sure you can find someone to add the bling for you locally!?

Hi! I live in NYC and everything is slowly opening. Each day more and more businesses are opening and more people are outside. You are required to wear masks in stores. However, as of today we are only on phase one which is construction and manufacturing. When are you planning to come? Would you fly or drive?

I'd recommend shipping it. Then even if it gets worse and things shut down in the city again, you'll still have it.

Renee you are so right, luckily my hairstylist knows someone that works for David’s Bridal and she does alterations. I can just pay her to add the Bling and do the alterations. I’m planning my Bridal Shower for next month, getting my son prepared for High School and I just don’t think I’ll have the time to fly to NY. 🤦🏾‍♀️ Thanks for the advice!!

Hi, I’m waiting for my consultant to email or call me to schedule my fitting. Apparently they didn’t open in Phase 1 😭 also my Aunt wanted to drive down only because I’ll be have to stay for three days. It’s required for out of town brides. And it’s located in Brooklyn NY

Hi, I was just reading that you all will go into Phase 3 on tomorrow. Well some areas I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️ So I might give my Bridal Store until next week to inform me on rather they’re going to open or not. Thank you for the information.

So I'm in a similar situation-- my dress was in Queens and I live in Illinois (although my wedding was supposed to be 5/30/20-->8/9/20-->likely moving again to next May). I ended up getting the dress shipped to me because I thought I would use it for my 5/30 elopement but it's complicated to put on myself and too complex for an elopement, so I bought a different dress. My plan was to keep the dress with me, and when bridal shops open (and closer to wedding date) I'll travel to NY with the dress and get it fitted there. If for some reason that can't be done, I'm just going to find someone in Illinois to do fittings (although I'd rather not). With that being said, my dress shop in Queens is opening up in late June, so maybe yours will also?

And yes I told her I’ll wait until we get closer to the end and decided rather to ship it or not. This is all so ridiculous

True, because not knowing when I’m going to get it has been giving me anxiety.
