Decision on postponing

Felicity, on May 25, 2020 at 7:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7
We set up a back up date with all of our vendors without any problems at all! They were wonderful. We have decided that on July 1 we will make our final decision on whether to postpone or not. We came to the conclusion if there are any restrictions we will most likely postpone!

What will make your final decision or whether you postpone or not?

If our state stays open, then we will proceed as normal. The minute the state does any back phasing, we will pull it and cancel for good.

We’re riding it out and will only postpone if our venue closes/cancels. As long as it’s open, we’re moving ahead. We only invited 65 guests who we’re regularly in contact with. So we can easily update them, if needed. And I’m totally fine if only half can attend.

Thankfully everyone is aware of this pandemic. So, if canceling is needed, it won’t be a huge surprise. I’m really hoping we don’t have to cancel because the future 2021 dates are just as uncertain. So I’d rather stay focused on our wedding and only go with our plan B if we’re forced to by the venue.

We are suppose to get married in a Catholic Church on July 25th. Our Bishop has decreed that everyone in the Catholic Churches must wear a mask and social distance (church has blue painters tape all around) through June 30th.

We are waiting until mid-June to to see if the decree gets extended. We really don’t want to say our vows while wearing a mask.

We recently decided to postpone and I wrote a whole thing about why we made that choice. It's here if you're interested:

I think the most important factors for anyone who's unsure to consider are: what needs to be at your wedding for you to be happy, and how likely is it that you'll be able to have those things without making your friends and family suffer.

Same with us! Our decision date is June 15 for choosing August 30-sept 2 2020 or October **** (we are planning destination wedding in Italy)

If restrictions are lifted and there isn’t a 14 day quarantine or any crazy testing obstacles, etc...were still on!!! If restrictions are in place then we will need to postpone (or cancel, if we can negotiate to get our money back from vendors)
