Deciding on who to walk me down aisle

Camellia, on May 7, 2020 at 8:14 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 6

Hey guys I need some help on deciding who is going to be walking me down the aisle. My bio dad hasn't really been in my life and only showed up when I turned 20, I'm now 25 years old. My grandfather who is like my dad and raised me. I thought about having both of them walk me down the aisle, but it only caused a fight with the family. I need help on deciding who should walk me down the aisle. Any suggestions or anything at all would help. Thanks

Wow im in a very similar position and was about to post a discussion on what i should i do im glad to see that im not the only person stressing about this! Having them both would be a good idea but if your grandfather raised you and is able to i would definitely choose him, and i think your bio dad should understand why he wasnt chosen if he only showed up in your life five years ago. Good luck babe !

I would say whoever was there for you when u needed them the most should walk you. My grandma raised me and my dad wasn’t there much. So I wanted her to walk me but the only reason why I’m choosing my dad to walk me is because she told me she didn’t want to. She told me that I am the only girl in the family and that it was my dads only chance to experience walking down his daughter. So that’s why I picked him.

I say pick whoever you want...orrr just walk yourself down. My father passed away years ago. Some people think I should have the next male relative I'm closest to (my uncle), but I want my mom to walk me down the aisle, so that's what we're doing. She raised me, so I think it should be her honor.

Whomever you wish, or walk yourself. My hubby & I walked together (we had a micro wedding, no wedding party, and we were both nervous).

Your grandfather sounds like he's the one who's been there for you your whole life. If they can't share the day, I would ask the person you're closest to and that definitely sounds like your grandfather.

I would just avoid the drama and walk by myself. Can I ask why it caused a fight? Who was upset and why?
