Deciding on honeymoon

Sammi, on January 11, 2020 at 11:53 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4
My fiancé and I are trying to decide on where to go/what to do for our honeymoon. My fiancé has traveled a lot in his life and I have not, so there is so much that I still want to see. He is pretty flexible with any options I have brought up. We were interested in going on a cruise and wherever the port was, spending a few days on land before going on a cruise. More recently it’s crossed our mind should we do a resort? Or stick to our initial plan? We’re getting married August 15 which is hurricane season. Again, he’s open to anything and has already traveled a lot and I’m so torn because there’s so much I’d love to do/see & of course want to be happy with our choice in honeymoon! Just looking to see what people recommend / different tips. Thank you!

My family was always a bigger fan of all inclusive resorts. My dad sometimes gets seasick and the alcohol is included at the resorts vs being a package on a cruise. I'd generally say the cruise vs resort is sort of a quantity vs quality decision... do you want to see a little bit (1 day or less) of multiple places, or have a more in depth experience in 1 or 2 places?
Also glad to hear you're being realistic about hurricanes. Don't quote me on this, but I feel like they're less likely to make it to central America (say Costa Rica) than Mexico or the Caribbean islands. I grew up in Florida and it was always difficult for the Tampa area to get a direct hit because it required the storm to make a drastic turn based on geography. Whereas Miami area was more often in a direct path. The storms drop in strength the longer they're over land.
I still say pick the place(s) you'll enjoy the most, just get the travel insurance.

Hi! I’m getting married August 15th as well!! We booked our honeymoon and doing an all inclusive in Aruba! I have done a lot of cruises and wanted to do another one but my fiancé wanted to just relax at one island at an all inclusive so ultimately we decided on Aruba since neither of us have been there and heard such great things.

Also getting married in August and worried about hurricane season! We originally wanted to go to the Caribbean, but didn't want to risk it. Hawaii was our next plan, but so many people said it's more expensive than an all inclusive resort. So we're probably gonna go to a travel agent and look at all inclusive resorts in Mexico or wherever it isn't hurricane season.

We went to Hawaii and it was amazing. We have done some traveling and didn't want to do a trip that was full of sight-seeing & activities. We wanted to do a lot of relaxing & just spending time together.
