Deciding on Centerpieces - Help!!

Cathie, on September 18, 2019 at 4:19 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

Hi All!

I am in need of some help deciding on centerpiece elements for my wedding next September. We have a decent budget, but I am also trying to save money where I can. Our wedding is a 1920s/art deco theme with dark, emerald green, silver and dark grey accents. We will have a lot of greenery, mixed with pearls and some feathers with white flowers.

I am really struggling on which type of floral holder to use. My options are (pictured below) tall silver candelabras (#1), tall silver pedestal holders (#2) and tall glass pilsner vases (#3). My favorite is the candelabras, but they are also the most expensive, by A LOT, with the silver pedestals the next most expensive and the pilsner vases coming in the most cost effective BY FAR ($65 for each candelabra vs. $15 for each pilsner vase). What do you all like based on the inspiration pictures below? Do you think the candelabras are worth it?

Thanks in advance for your help!!

My personal favorite is the third option. It's elegant and still reminds me of the 20s!

I honestly prefer the pilsner vases! Even if I did prefer the candelabras, they wouldn't be worth the big price difference for me personally.

I think #2 is on the nose with the 20s theme, but that you really can't go wrong with the pilsner vases. You could also mercury glass paint the pilsner vases to make them more silver

I would need to know how many tables. My preference would be the first option, the candelabras. However, you could also do a mix of high and low centerpieces and use these for half the tables and a silver bowl (or something similar) for the other half.

@earias - I am already doing that exact thing! I will have low silver mercury glass bowls for compote floral arrangements on half the tables. These taller options will be on the other half!

I think the third option is incredibly elegant!

If you really want the first ones too, I agree with PP that you can mix them.

Shannon - That is a great idea! I wasn't sure if I loved the clear glass when nothing else I'm using is clear like that.

Option #2 embodies the 20's theme you're going for perfectly. If you simply prefer the look of the candelabras then you could always do a mixture of 2 different floral holders for your centerpieces.

Oh man that is difficult! I think do #2 as they are still cost effective with the beauty of your theme

Personally, I would go with #2 since the narrow stem won't be blocking anyone's view yet you can really go to town decorating the top part.

I like the candelabras and vase. I would check the pricing of doing some mix and matching! Maybe a few tables with candelabras & the rest with the vase.

For a fourth more affordable option I would maybe add in some centerpieces using round mirrors and candles (& whatever florals).

Mix matching will save you money and add dimension to the room!

I like #1 the best of course, but I think to choose a happy medium where you won't be upset with yourself for spending so much #2 would be a great choice.

That price difference hurts me... So sad. I truly love #1 the most, but #3 is also a good option. Smiley smile
