Decided to not diy flowers

Leonormorrow, on January 4, 2020 at 10:04 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
I’ve been trying to plan on a budget, and was thinking of DIYing flowers by purchasing them from an online vendor to arrange myself a few days before the wedding.

However, I’ve been worrying about how much work it’ll take to arrange and stressing about it. So I contacted a local flower shop near me and turns out they do full service for just a few hundred dollars more!
It’s a bit more than I budgeted, but i think it’s ultimately worth it to not have to stress on the big day. I think I’ve finally decided to just accept how much this will cost, but hopefully it’s worth it for the big day!
Would love to hear any more experiences considering DIYing vs paying a bit more to have more taken care of.

I recently figured out the same thing. I’m not afraid to DIY but I honestly don’t care a lot about the flowers. I’m so glad I looked more into it. Turns out a local florist could do exactly what I wanted for the exact same price! I’m Nc sure this won’t be everyone’s experience but it was mine.

I was going to do DIY and then I realized I don't want to stress myself out. Found an awesome florist and she is giving me an amazing deal and my wedding will look 10 times prettier than I could ever hoped or done on my own. I think it's not a bad idea if you're going simple. Honestly though- it's one less thing to worry about and that means I can focus on my man and my big day even more.

I am not one for flowers and going to DIY my centerpieces and bouquets. I actually bought silk flowers, which will make it easier so i can put them together as early in advance as I want. I also figured since they are silk, people can take them home and use them for home decor if they want.

All together i am paying about $400....3 times less than what i was quoted by a florist

I did somewhere in the middle. DIY was much less expensive but I was so stressed about it not coming out well. So I got my own bouquet from a florist (which is the one that would be in all the pictures anyways) and then DIYd for the bridesmaids.

I totally agree that it’s worth the extra money to have someone else take care of it. When my best friend got married we had to wake up extra early on her wedding day to put together the flowers for center pieces, decorations, and bouquets...I do not want that type of stress on my wedding day.

That’s a good compromise! I only have one MoH so I figured I’d just do it all one way or another.

Yeah I though my mom and I could do it a few days before but then where would we put everything? Plus I’m having more tables than I though so more centrepieces... I’m glad to not have to think about it anymore. All we need to do now is have someone pickup the containers after the wedding and drop off a week after. And it’s a local shop, so I feel better supporting them and am more confident of the quality.
