December honeymoon

Ashley, on May 4, 2020 at 9:54 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 11
Hello! We were originally scheduled to get married in July with a honeymoon to Disney, but ya know covid came in like a wrecking ball.
Our wedding has now been moved to sept 26. Due to our work schedules we can’t take our honeymoon until Christmas break the 23- Jan 3rd

Where are some affordable budget friendly places to go during this time?

I'm so sorry you've had to move things!

Is your Disneymoon not transferable? We did one and *loved* it! I've also heard Disney is even more magical during that time.

That said, if you can't do Disney, what are the other types of things you like to do? Do you want to go someplace warm, or do you not mind the cold? What's your budget range?

It is transferable however I don’t want to deal with that crowd lol I worked there during the Christmas season and I wouldn’t go after dec 20th due to how crowded it is,
We are wanting to go somewhere warm.

I think keep Florida as your honeymoon location. You will have great weather! Airbnb in the Keys? There’s Key Largo, Islamorada (you don’t want Key West which is the party city of the keys).. look at the more low key Keys.

Entirely fair - I worked 2 holiday seasons at a Very Famous Toy Store... never again!

Could you do more of FL? Maybe the Gulf Coast, or the Keys?

I also recommend the keys. It's so nice, you can drive from one to the other and you could do an Airbnb or they have some nice resorts too with fun activities and nice beaches.

Staying in Florida, you could also stay in St Pete Beach/Clearwater beach. Both are beautiful and you are a close drive to Tampa which has a fun nightlife and also a lot of amazing restaurants!

You can do San Diego as well if you want someplace warm. it's such a nice, relaxing city. You can relax by the beach, walk around, and even explore the tidepools.

You could look into Puerto Rico as well! It's a beautiful island and they have some very nice resorts without being too far and having to go out of the country.

You're going to love Grand Turk!! We went to Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon at the beginning of March (we got back just a few days before travel restrictions started), and it was amazing!! We stayed on Providenciales but flew to Grand Turk one day to go on a whale snorkeling excursion! I highly recommend it! North American Humpback Whales migrates to Turks & Caicos in the winter, and you can only do excursions off Grand Turk or Salt Cay. Most of them are just whale watching excursions, but we chose to go with Humpback Dive Shack so we could, actually, snorkel with the whales! They ended up swimming off before we could get in the water with them, but it was still a really cool experience! Also, go to Jack's Shack! It's delicious!!

You could try a cruise! I personally am a big fan of cruises! They're so fun and they allow you to visit multiple places in the same vacation. There's lots of different options too!
