December 2022 Brides!!

Just a little insight about me. I've been with my Husband for almost 14yrs, we met when I was 14 but didn't date until I was 16. We actually went ahead and got married on August 11th of this year because we didn't want covid to keep pushing our happy day back, but decided to plan our wedding for December 2022. We have 2 beautiful kids and a standard Poodle. So far I have booked the venue, photographer, meeting with a caterer and paid off my dress. I hope you ladies will join in and we can learn and help each other😊

Hey! I’m also planning a wedding for December 2022. I got engaged to my boyfriend of 5 years, we have an almost 2 year old together! I’ve just started the process. We’ve been looking at venues and I think I found the one! Have not secured it yet tho.

We are November 2022! FH has his suit and I have my dress. I just picked out my wedding ring (it’s being made now and should be here in a couple of weeks); FH hasn’t decided on his yet though. We have booked our venue, photographer, videographer, florals, caterer, musicians, and makeup artists. Now we are just making payments and anxiously counting down the days!!

View Quoted Comment Omg, pintrest was my best friend when looking for dresses. I saved A LOT of dresses that I liked and when I went for my appointment I showed it to them and she pulled almost all of the out. When I was looking at the dresses I was thinking, there's no way these are in my price range but when looking at the tags when trying them on they were and I was very surprised. I did find my dress and it was one that my Mother picked out and funny thing also... when I was looking at my dresses that I saved, the dress I picked was in that pile. I would say, once you make a decision, don’t second-guess it and don’t keep looking at inspiration pictures! It’s way too easy to confuse yourself or to find something you love that is completely different from what you’ve already chosen. I think brides get way too wrapped up in creating “the perfect wedding” or trying to copy celebrity weddings, or create an “Instagram worthy” event… that they create tons of stress and rob themselves of the joy of planning. Just keep reminding yourself that the marriage is the important part, and the wedding is just a party- it should be fun, not stressful!
What kind of maid of honor help are you looking for?

I really don't know what the maid of honor is really suppose to help with, like I know the bridal shower and Bachelorette party but what else. Could I give her other task to do that's more involved in the "wedding planning"?

We pushed our date to back to December (Due to COVID and an unexpected pregnancy) which I am happy about. Our new date is 12/27/22 which is our anniversary. Most of everything is planned and just have to book or finalize (besides the dress and airfare).

I did start dress shopping but because we changed from summer to winter I need to pick a different style dress.

We are only having a BM and MOH, and since it will be just her, I will be paying for her hair and make-up unless she just wants to pay for it herself. I didn't want to included that part as her gift so she'll still be receiving a proper thank you gift.
