How many colors are you incorporating in your weddingSmiley ring ? I was trying to do three but it is so hard because you can find some you like in one color and not in the color. Im really thinking of just doing two.

We are doing 2 base colors. One of the base colors is sage but we are also accenting with greenery.

    Hi Miranda,

I've found that one or 2 base colors that compliment each other seems to work best and then if you do want a 3rd color, it can be used more as an accent with little pops in decor, accessories, etc. Sometimes also building a complimentary color palette (like taking a wedding color palette quiz) may help you find those shades for those complimentary accents.

I like Sage is a very nice color. I wanted to do two base colors with a silver/platinum accent but the base color Red (Fireball Red) is so hard to coordinate my other base color so I took it out.

    Hi Chelsea,

I was trying to that but my 2 base colors are too bold together. So I decided one bold color with a silver/platinum accent.

Oh yes! Unless maybe a jewel toned type of palette, 1 neutral and 1 bold totally work. But hey, it's your day! And silver/platinum is lovely for December weddings!

We have 3, sage & cream with grey's & silvers.

A few of my friends have done black & orange with accents of purple for a halloween wedding, another did maroon & navy with gold, last summer I went to a wedding that was royal blue & pink with white.

Ohhh I like those colors. I was trying to do these colors and it's not working out as I wanted it to. So we decided to go with Eggplant and Sliver/Plantium since both of our favorite color is purple.

I am having a Valentine's wedding next year, so I went with dark scarlett and then white and black...this is my 2nd wedding, though, so with my first, I had lavendar and periwinkle with silver accents. What I ended up doing was alternating the colors, or trading off. So, if the napkins were lavendar, the centerpieces had more of the periwinkle. My maid of honor had her dress in one color and the other bridesmaids had theres in the other color. Same with the groomsmen.

I hope that help! Good luck 💜

Thanks, it did. I still have time to play around before I really start setting things in stone.

Contrasting colors and comparing colors(colorwheel) are normally the most compelling combinations visually. So you could use the color wheel and use three arrows 120° from each other(ie purple green orange), get three colors next to each other(ex red orange yellow) to get three colors, or have two colors and one neutral(black, grey, white, cream). I have a friend with a arts major that hits me with the color wheel everytime I decorate.

Color Wheel......I got it thank you because I just thought about incorporating gold with my colors because Gatsby theme is dark and lot of gold. I'm so indecisive thought but thanks for the help.
