db Alterations

Erin, on October 21, 2019 at 5:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10
Does anyone know of you can use David’s Bridal store credit to pay for dress alterations? I’m looking into exchanging my dress, and if I get one that costs less than the one I have I’d get store credit back. I tried googling it, but all I’ve found is that you can use a DB credit card to pay, nothing about store credit. Thank you.

No, it’s unworn, unaltered, with original tags still in.

When I got my dress they told me (and my receipt said) exchanges couldn’t be made for a dress that cost less than the one I had purchased. If I had wanted to exchange my dress, the new dress would have had to be more expensive. If the store is allowing you to do that, I’d ask if it can go toward alterations, but I’ve never heard of DB issuing store credit.

I just did this. I exchanged my dress for one that was $100 less. I had to use the credit the same day. They dont give you a credit to use any time you want. Has to be used when you do the dress exchange. I used the credit to get my bridesmaids shoes.

This is what their website says "Items purchased at David’s Bridal stores are not eligible for returns; however, exchanges are accepted prior to the original event date given at the time of purchase and within the same country as the original in-store purchase. All merchandise returns must be in their original condition—unworn, unwashed, unaltered, and undamaged, with all tags attached and intact.

If the exchange value is greater than the original price paid, the customer will pay the difference. If the exchange value is less than the original price paid, the customer will receive the difference in a store credit."

I'm sure they'll to tell you they can't do it, but that's a word for word quote from their returns & exchanges page on their website.

I would have no problem having to use it that day, there are still things I need like a slip or shoes or a bra or whatever. Did they give you a hard time about exchanging it?

That's good. I went back to mine about a month or 2 ago to try my dress on again and they gave me weird looks (probably since I already had mine that I picked up. It just happened to be at my FIL's house so I couldn't try it on) they were pretty nice about it, but it was definitely awkward xD.
