Arianna, love this dress on you!! The skirt is so whimsy 🌸🌼🌺 I had my alterations done in a small bridal boutique, I had a simple dress (not a ball gown) that needed a bustle and alterations under the arms. The total was $500. Certainly will depend on the type of dress, how complicated the fabric is, etc. Sorry I don’t have the exact info you are seeking, but just wanted to share as a frame of reference.

Congratulations on finding your dress! That skirt is going to look like you’re floating on a cloud when you dance! 💕
As far as adding a corset, are you talking about adding an internal corset to give you shape and support? Or just a lace up corset back?

Thank you!! Well they told me if I did a lace up corset back it would help hold the shape and support so that’s what I’m thinking. I will be wearing a closet/long lined bra under at well to help as well.

Gotcha. The reason I asked is because my friend’s sister had a similar dress that she had a corset and bustle added to. This was her dress (sorry such poor quality)

The corset was $200 and the bustle was $350

I have this dress too! It’s so pretty!
I had my alterations fitting last week. She had to take it in on the sides a little and I had her attach my long line bra to the dress so I wouldn’t have to worry about the dress slipping down.
As for the hem, they actually pull it up within the ruffles rather than actually hem it. And I had her pull the train up a little because it was really longer than I wanted. With all of that it was $320.

David’s bridal made significant changes to my dress (for instance I had a corset removed and a zipper installed, let out to accommodate zipper then taken in to fit me, and a bustle) and it was all less then $300. I was very pleased with the pricing.

You’re welcome! Unless you want the back to have a corset look versus the zipper, it really isn’t necessary. Get a good long line bra and they will take the dress in at the sides to make it fit well. I’d think that would be a less expensive option too than changing the back to a corset. Of course if that is the look that you want then go for it!

It’s to make it a little bigger and I want to lose weight but I can’t always stick with it so I think a corset would be helpful but I see what your saying.
